"MACLUNKEY!" etiquette

By PhantomFO, in X-Wing

Just rewatched the new version of the scene... Han's head moves to the side without tilting or his neck bending. It then immediately pops back into the original position in the space of nanoseconds due to the edited cut not including him moving his head back... WTF Lucas, wtf.

When you're going to litter the entire playing field with Jabba's dropped cargo.

Han Solo (Scum) (54)
Trick Shot (4)
Jabba the Hutt (6)
Greedo (1)
Rigged Cargo Chute (4)
Lando's Millennium Falcon (6)

Literally my favorite Scum Han build no joke.

So janky but totally hilarious and thematic as anything.

This scene is changed 4 times and yet Ponda Baba's arm is still the wrong hand type and still has blood...

Honestly, let George keep tinkering. This whole "ma klounkee" thing is kinda fun.

But I still want essentially the THX versions on Bluray, etc, too. Original cut with clean colors and good sound.

It'd be great to have both/and , not either/or .

Didn't the DVD of Clue include an option to randomly decide which ending to play? The next Blu-ray release of Star Wars should randomly decide who shoots first each time you view it.

Put him in a Quadjumper or generic Jumpmaster. You'll be yelling Maclunkey every round.

No Gunner slot on the Quadjumper, alas.

Do we really know what an Aqualish's hand looks like, anyway? Besides, how do we know it wasn't the Shistavanen "Wolfman"'s?

Wasn't he edited out of newer versions?

While the fact Lucas keeps changing that scene with each rerelease annoys me, I've never had a particular problem with the original change it's self. I just take offense to the fact that Lucas keeps changing the scene for stupid reasons. It does sadden me however that there's a generation of Star Wars fans who have never had a chance to see the original version of the first trilogy and now never will.

We see him grabbing Luke's shoulder no? I seem to recall he has weird hoof/cup hands but then George didn't think it looked enough like an arm so he changed the arm shot. But it then leaves the character with two different types of hand in the same film.

And even if they retconned the hand, at least change the arm wound to be cauterized like we know happens now.

Obi-wan's been in the desert a while. Maybe his lightsaber is wearing out and takes longer to heat up properly.

It's a blade of coherent light. Or maybe plasma, they keep changing the lore on that. And it can cut through anything except another light saber or materials treated with specific force imbued alchemy. Why would it need time to heat up, if it ignites instantly?

It's like a florescent light. It comes on instantly, but takes time to reach full intensity.

Just imagine Han had immediately been dubbed saying "OH NO YOU DI'NT!" with his little head bob.

I've just decided to boycott Disney+ until they restore 1977 Han & Greedo.

What the ever loving Frak?

Dang, you’re going to miss everything when they cg Solo tap dancing out of the way of the shot, while still in a sitting position. It's how Lucas envisioned the scene but could never afford to reshoot it.

It's exactly the sort of silly fun that makes Star Wars so great. Plus, it seems to really rile up all the folks who are overly invested in Han shooting first, and I count that as an added bonus.

When your match ends in a draw, you don't roll final salvo any more; both players get a match loss.

That's MACLUNKEY!

This actually works pretty well when sung to the "Moon hits your eye its a pizza pie" song.

No idea; I'm going from what I remember from the scene.

Exactly!

What if Ben missed, cut the wolf guys' arm off, everybody screams, and the nefarious duo runs away?

New head Canon.

Yes, please.

That'll motivate an engagement.

Maclunky.com

HAN SHOT FIRST

...

Lol

What is a Maclunky? Why, obviously that's what it's called when both players have identical bids and all their pilots have the same initiative, but the person who lost the dice off for first player choice insists something invalidated their roll and roll again... four times in a row.

Why is a character who only appears for a couple minutes in one of the movies, and dies pretty much immediately, such a beloved character?! And why does Mr Lucas insist on constantly changing that scene?!

Still has more dialogue than Boba does.
