So... What are the odds that darksaber-having Moff Gideon has it in his head that the Child is key to artificially awakening his own (Gideon's) Force-sensitivity (injecting midi-chlorians or other such spirit-techno-whatzit)?

No they need to juice him for the barrel of Snokes.

I bet Filoni is a SW RPG player and reading this forum. tea, the astromech, nursey killer bot, the heavy, it'S basically our group minus the Verpine Ace :(
We even had the kid on the table! Twice! 😉
Though our face character is not a guild guy, but instead a trader twi'lek.

There's a video on YouTube where Sam Witwer (voice of Maul in Rebels and Solo) tours FFG HQ and he says that Lucas Film has every FFG Star Wars RPG book in their reference library. As with Rebels, I get the feeling I'm watching a RPG group session when I watch a episode of The Mandalorian.

Sam Witwer has run a game for the cast of Rebels.

I did not know that and I wonder if the writers of the show sat in on a session or 2 and took notes. Wouldn't surprise me if they did TBH.

It's always been a joking theory* of mine that Rebels was actually an RPG campaign. It really gives off that feeling.

*Joking theory = not something I actually think to be true, even if it may sorta fit

It was fairly late in the run, so not sure how likely it is.

Here’s the first of several sessions:

Filoni did write the introduction for Dawn of Rebellion . I don't believe Rebels was based on an actual role-playing game campaign, but I wouldn't scoff at the theory that the writers have been gamers, are open to the content in gaming supplements, and may have a tinge of "gamer-think" when plotting out their stories. There is an entwined relationship between the games and other licensed products going back 30 years. Zahn related that when he asked Lucasfilm for reference materials when writing the original Thrawn trilogy they sent him a boxes of WEG D6 Star Wars books to read. WEG in turn released supplements based on his novels. And, over the years things created for licensed products (and even just fan works) ended up being"canonized" when Lucas said "hey, I like that." Aayla Secura, for instance, was inspired by a piece of fan art that impressed him.

Filoni learned about inquisitors from Fragments from the Rim that Sam Witwer let him read.

Fan art, the Dark Horse comic where she appeared before screen, or fan art based on the comic (making an even stranger sequence of events)?

I should say "concept art." It was an early piece that was one of several proposed before the comic was green-lit for production. George liked it.

That sounds more like what I remembered hearing.

At any rate, I’m glad he did, because Amy Allen was delightful when I got to meet her at a con. 😁

I'm glad he did, too. Despite the get-up it broke out from the original Twi'lek stereotype.

Terry Crews.

While we're on the subject of Baby Yoda:

Cast for Mandalorian Season 2 according to various articles on the web, for whatever they are worth:

Pedro Pascal (no surprise :P )
Gina Carano (Whee! Cara's coming back! Wait a second. I just noticed that the nickname of Former Republican Shocktrooper Carasynthia Dune [to use her full title] is the first 4 letters of the actress's last name)
Carl Weathers
Bill Burr (What a shocking surprise! No one predicted he'd come back.)
Giancarlo Esposito (*Gasp* you mean the villain who survived a TIE fighter crash is going to make a reappearance!? I'm shocked.)
Rosario Dawson (Do I want a live-action Ahsoka? Not sure.)
Michael Biehn (Whoever that guy is)

From the articles I've seen, none of this has concrete confirmation from official sources.

It is possible that Cara and Greef could only appear in flashbacks or something and not actually be heavily featured, but I dearly hope this isn't the case. They were great in S1.

Not mentioned as being included was Emily Swallow, the actress who played the armorer. I really hope she makes a reappearance as well, because MANDOS !

Kyle Reese from the original Terminator, Cpl Hicks from Aliens, and Lt. Coffey from The Abyss just to name a few.

Well, that would explain why I have no idea who he is. *shrug*

Maybe I'm missing something. How do we know that Rosario Dawson is lined up to be Ahsoka?
