It's quite possible, given what he went through, and the amount of damage his armor and the suit underneath would have taken.

And, you know, every so often people buy new pants.

By the same token, it could also be someone completely different.

This seems more likely to me.

there whole premise seems to be this is NOT Boba Fett. And they are adamant about that. makes me think not Boba. And Boba is Dead as far as we know in Current canon.

O_o

No, really? News to me... (Eh, what do I know, I'm just a fighter plane. All you squishy humans look the same to me anyway)

I rewatched Chapter 5 yesterday, and did like it better second time 'round. It is still my least favorite of the episodes, but I did enjoy it.

The main reason why? It has now become absolutely clear that The Mandalorian is an EotE campaign. Exhibit 5A: They go to Tatooine. Exhibit 5B: The gunslinger's first thought after "Is it dead?" was "LLOOOOTTT!!!!" :D

Not in Star Wars they don't. Nothing can change or the "fans"go Ape-crap-crazy.

In general, apes can avoid crap if they change their pants regularly. ;)

Han changed his pants between a new hope and empire

How dare they ruin my childhood memories 😭😱. It’s almost as bad as when they took the dress skirts away from the male crew on the Enterprise!

Is that a rogue class starfighter in the hanger at the end that gets blown up by the x-wings?

Yup, sure seems that way.

and HOLY CRAP!!! What an episode

I loved seeing Clancy Brown as a Devaronian!

Rick Famuyiwa proves to be a strong director again.

This episode had so much going for it. Loved the action and the cinematography.

One of my favorite episodes so far after last week's being kinda meh. It wasn't the story, both had good plots, so perhaps it was the director?

Wow, what an awesome episode! Great way to give a little backstory to Mando without revealing too much, and even Baby Yoda got in on the action with messing with the droid!

Also!

The banner art in Disney+ for "Chapter 6 Now Streaming" has to be from Chapter 7 or 8, since it looks like it's Mando and Cara standing together on Nevarro - I wonder if she finds him to help, or he calls her in?

She said they would cross paths again. I took that as foreshadowing not an empty statement.

Oh for sure, just wondering who does what.

Next episode seems to be Greef Carga extending the olive branch to Mando, so maybe she got in contact with him? Thankfully, only have to wait until Wednesday to find out.

So did anyone watching not expect the Mando to be double-crossed? Didn't realize until the credits that it was Natalia Tena as the crazy Twi'lek knife gal, but not surprised that it was Clancy Brown as the Devaronian brute (think it was the voice that gave it away for me on that one).

I agree with Starkjunior that the episode did a good job of expounding on the Mando's background without giving too much detail on him, leaving much of the mystery intact while establishing that he's earned his status as someone to be feared in a fight, both with taking down the droids and then pretty much going slasher movie villain on the turncoat crew. Heck, even his ending gambit of collecting his paycheck but leaving the New Republic's tracking beacon on the Twi'lek thug demonstrated his brains.

Side note: those X-Wing pilots? They're directors from the show, being Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa, which I thought was a fun touch.

Yeah, I loved that bit! :D

I thought this one was great. I really loved the classic horror movie vibe where he's picking them off one-by-one in the dark. This was quite a fun one. I'm not sure where it ranks for me because it was so much different from the others.

Bill Burr was fantastic. I'm not really a Bill Burr fan, haven't watched any of his stuff, but he was pretty good in this one. I thought the bit with the Twi'lek was a little confusing, not entirely sure what went on in their past. I really liked the scene where the Mando took apart all those droids.

It was hard to tell, but was he using his vibroknife to take them down? If so, that removes a lot of my concerns about people attacking droids with vibro-weapons in-game.

I don't think it was a Rogue-class starfighter. That was my first guess, but I think it was shaped differently in a couple ways. I'll rewatch that part and see for sure.

I'm not sure either. Plus I believe one of the X-wing pilots said something like, "They've got a GUNSHIP preparing to launch". It could just be the writer doesn't understand starfighter vs. gunship, but it could also indicate it's not a Rogue?

Gunship is a pretty loose designation though, so it could have been used to refer to a fighter-bomber. AKA something overgunned, like it appeared to be. Not sure. they might also have been referring to the Razorcrest, but I don't think so.

It does look pretty small for the size of "gunships" we know about.

Yeah, kinda does. Gunship sizes, though, have ranged from at least as small as the LAAT/i to capital ships like the CR90, so it could extend to smaller ships as well. I may be remembering this incorrectly, but wasn't the Skipray Blastboat also referred to as a gunship?

I checked out the scene again, and I'm pretty sure it's a modified Rogue-class starfighter. It lost the pointy bits from the engine intakes (or whatever those things that look like engine intakes are) and added some weapons under the wings and to the side of the cockpit. There were a few various other bits that were added or changed, but I'm pretty sure it at least started out as a Rogue-class.

On second thought... AGH! I can't tell! There are too many close bits, but it's changed enough that it could be something different. The general shape is the same, but there are enough different details that it could just be a very similar ship.

I think it's a Rogue-class, but it's hard to tell.

Someone calls the Razor Crest a gunship earlier in the episode as well, I think it was the Droid, Zero
