[Decklist] Can you get back up? (Solo Play, Expert Mode)

By nungunz, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

Here is another deck list! The last one I posted ended up being pretty popular for the core-set only solo play build. I used Peter Parker/Spider-man again; this time with the Protection aspect.
If you want to make solo, expert mode even harder...the protection aspect is the way to go because threat management is hard (especially with any acceleration tokens in play).

Just keeping it real, I lost twice to Standard Rhino using Protection Spider-Man yesterday. Protection Black Panther and I got a hat trick: beat Rhino, Claw, and Ultron. I really like Spider-Man's signature cards, but I haven't figured him out yet.

Yeah, Protection is really rough in single player at tHe moment. I’m hoping Ms. Marvel brings some solid cards to shore it up.

BP has some built in AoE that really helps and the retaliate is nice as well so he can deal with minions rather well.

With Spider-man you really can’t be afraid to frequently use swinging web kick a lot...even to remove minions like Melter is worth it if you don’t have Haymaker + Spidey or an ally for the final two damage. Take every opportunity you can to hit the nemesis and take minion hits it they aren’t too nasty.

Protection Black Panther works because you get to keep Black Panther in Hero Mode with all the def and healing. With Spiderman on the other hand I want to get to Peter Parker side to make use of his ability and Protection doesn't do much for him at that point. Also, getting more defense than his natural 3 is often not really necessary and when your hand is filled with both Counterpunch and Backflip I can't help but wonder what I'm doing with this Aspect here. I think Spiderman and Protection just aren't that good of a marriage (right now anyway, could always change with more cards being released)

Protection is rough period, but I think it's worst for Spidey. He doesn't have the raw damage output to keep piling on damage, and has zero ability to manage threat. With protection, you're just surviving, not winning. But in solo it's hard to play anyone with protection, although I do like Iron man with it.
