(Tentative) Release Windows for Upcoming Products

That last one is serious, but also rumors should be treated as such?

As far as I’m aware, the rest of that isn’t new for FFG in the least. They’ve always struggled with getting products released in a timely matter, for several reasons. The cancelling of the 2.0 Raider is unfortunate, but it seems like that’s just another side-effect of launching a second edition.

Maybe they’ll print some extra 2.0 Raider cards and set people up with the dials from the Tantive IV boxes or something 😅 More feasible, maybe they’ll offer a discount to buy the 1e Raider with a conversion kit.

FFG having product issues is not new, true. But I would argue that this year has been the worst in a long time, across multiple product lines there have been delays and then some having delays on top of the delays.

Then you have news like the Saws, Reaper and Raider - a decision to not put these into production would had to have been made months ago but up until a few weeks ago nothing was said.

Something is hinkier than normal at FFG

I must've missed something. When did the 2.0 Raider get cancelled?

Ffg put it out by social media (again), saying there is “sufficient stock” of 1.0 to not justify the rerelease yet. I’ve never seen one in stores so I don’t know what they’re talking about, and I’m practically their neighbor by being in the same state so...

I found some on Amazon for $50ish buck which is a steal.

I would avoid jumping to conclusions about ffgs financial health based on cancelled reprints. Especially the raider which became a paperweight for a lot of empire players (myself included I only used it 3 times) because of palp and the tie advanced fix. Now that they are selling it without a small ship and with upgrades geared towards epic its probably harder to forecast demand.

This is new territory for ffg. I am sure 1.0 reprints were cancelled all the time.

I'm really curious to see what shows up in the Holiday Sale, personally.

All the 1.0 Epic ships they have lying around, so they can goose the sales of the Huge Ship Conversion pack. :)

Still listed as in stock on the 1.0 product page for it, that is probably what they're talking about.

I ordered one for $ 50 there yesterday.

This saturday I bought a 1.0 Rebels Transport and Imperial Assault Cruiser for € 30 each (+-$ 33).

Getting 1.0 stuff with a conversion kit is often cheaper than getting the 2.0 sets.

Even more so when you factor in the other ships. 2 ties, a tie advanced, and a x wing is nice bonus.

So there's more 1.0 stuff still available for sale than not. Here's the only things that are Out of Stock, everything else is still up for sale.

  • Core Set (original)
  • Tie Advanced
  • TIE Defender
  • Imperial Assault Carrier
  • Inquisitor's TIE
  • Imperial Veterans
  • Special Forces TIE
  • TIE Striker
  • TIE Aggressor
  • Alpha-class Star Wing
  • Y-Wing
  • Rebel Transport
  • K-Wing
  • A-Wing
  • Ghost
  • Tantive IV
  • Sabine's TIE Fighter
  • Auzituck Gunship
  • Guns for Hire

This tells me there's a lot of inventory sloshing around at FFG. Retailers aren't buying it and have mostly cleared it out by. So here's hoping for an Epic holiday sale!

They could make bundles with conversion kits for the holiday deal. Maybe look at some of the good lists and throw in a garbage ship as a bonus.

I can't speak for the USA but in Oz and someone said the same for Canada - retailers cannot and have not been given the option to order 1.0 stuff since 2.0 came out and have been having fire sales to clear out 1.0 stock

Its stuff that most vets have, thats the reason for making the conversion kit. Would be good those sets already available where given to the retailers for reselling them at discount price... Cant imagine the revenue for FFG in Germany doing so but seemed like whole stuff got wiped out during the Essen. I totally agree with the bundle idea, its so, so true that repackaged stuff in some cases the costumer would ended paying more for less; Kudos to FFG for not doing that, luv ya. To bad that even mAmazon.mx doesnt have the full range in my country and LFGS put whatever price they are high on... Only hope is sale price everywhere! Come on! Supereasy!
