Dewbacks updated to "shipping"

By Darth Sanguis, in Star Wars: Legion

Here's hoping they got the right bases this time ;D

It doesn't matter which one they put in the box. All your bases are belong.

On the day my FLGS gets them, I'll be gone. Curses, curses, curses. Lol.

If they don't, then I don't know what they were doing with the boxes in the warehouses...

I mean, if it happened once, it could happen again. lol

At that point they'd probably just errata the card to fit the bases they shipped with lol

According to FFG the models have been sitting in warehouses having the bases replaced since the issue was discovered. The ones shipping now are still part of the initial manufacturing run that had the wrong bases, they expedited shipping on some of the models for the convention, it wasn't a separate manufacturing run.

Yeah I was just making the joke that it's possible they could repackage a second wrong size base.

Ah sorry, misunderstood.

It's certainly in the realm of possibility, although that would be pretty sad if the QA failed that hard twice...

Good lord! So how long was the delay? When did Tauntauns arrive on shelves?

I wonder if it was feasible to just sell the Dewbacks on time and ship the correct bases by USPS. To make sure players are using the correct bases, use a different color. Because FFG had to get the correct bases, retrieve all Dewback boxes, open them, replace the bases and reseal. Feel sorry for the people who had to repackage all of those boxes.

You joke but it's no laughing matter. It definitely is all about that base, about that base no rebels.

All about that base, no Rebels!

Dewbacks were supposed to be out August 30th with Shoretroopers, Tauntauns and Rebel Vets were released together on August 1st. So about three months late.

The problem with you idea is how do you ensure everyone that buys the box knows about the base issue? Not everyone uses Facebook or would know to check the website.

I also don't think they had to "retrieve" anything, they just didn't send them out to distributors, since the issue was discovered from the kits that were sold early at GenCon, which arrived via air shipping. So when the boat shipped product arrived, FFG just kept it in their warehouses to swap the bases.

How? By sending in the Base Police with the threat of army seizure for failure to comply. /s

I'm curious to see how the Dewback will do in the meta. Already watched a battle or two from Crabbok. They seem a worthy addition.

Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to what mounted creature GAR and CIS will get.

Do CIS really need a creature trooper? They have quite a few droids in that size range (crabs and dwarf spiders come to mind)

I wouldn't be surprised if the third Corps unit for the CIS is the Genosians, in which case it would make sense to have the picadors on orrays from the arena as a unit.

If that's what they opt to do at least it'll be nice to save some money; the Banking Clan doesn't use any of that.

Agreed the only organics that I want in my DROID army are commanders and operatives.

If they give us a Droid commander at some point, then I won't need any meatbags at all!

Can’t you ask them to hold one for you? Most stores will, for a regular customer.

I’m sure (100%... almost) that GAR will be getting Blurrg. They were seen in the CW animated show, Rebels and now the Mandalorian.

The real question will be who will be riding on the Blurrg, Clones or Twi'leks? We do see a Clone or two mount up during TCW, but they were the exception, not the rule. A non-Clone creature trooper might have the same problems as BARCs in fitting with the rest of the army.

Good observation. Unless FFG gives Blurrg riders the same economy as Tauntaun riders. Then Twi'lek riders would be okay without Clone Trooper token shaing. As a GAR player, please FFG.

The last thing the game needs is more Tauntaun-lavel nonsense.

I absolutely agree. Tauntauns need a nerf, not company on the "stupidly overpowered to the point of not even being logical" shelf.

Shut your filthy mouths. Tauntauns are the most perfectly designed, balanced, sculpted, etc. unit in the history of wargaming.
