Epic battles expansion: number of players per conversion kit

By Manolox, in X-Wing

Hi,

does anybody knows how many players an epic battles conversiin kit allows to play?

they say the maximum number of players is 8 but to play in 8 how many conversion kits i have to buy?

specifically, if we are 2 players, do we all need an epic battles conversion kit or 1 is sufficent?

thanks

One, if you plan on fielding two Huge ships per side. Or two if each side is only running one Huge ship. Also, remember that Epic Battles is not the same as Huge ships. Yeah, they're expected to be used in Epic scenarios. But Epic Battles is specifically large scale, specific scenarios, and/or more then 2 players at a time. You can run Huge ships in a 200 point regular game if you want. They aren't tourney legal, obviously. But for casual games it's perfectly fine.

Epic Battles is not a conversion kit. It’s essentially an alternate way to play the game in a box and 1 box can cover 8 people simply by sharing the wing tools and having scenarios that can use 8 people. You are not required to use epic ships in any scenario, some give a suggestion to use I believe, but not required.

Huge ship conversion kit is a conversion kit and it’s meant for 1 person, but if you need to split it has two plastic bases. Only 1 damage deck, but casually that’s fine.

So far, I'm loving my CR-90. Even if it was used to kick my tail.

Did you use both of the new expantions to play that? Was it jsut the Huge Ship expansion you used?

Did you use the Epic expansion to expand the points and use new scenarios, or more players?

We just used the CR-90 and quickbuild cards totaling to Threat 9. We were going to do a 500 point Epic game, but the official app still hasn't updated to include Huge ships or Epic format. And he refuses to use YASB. Over in the "Are huge ships undercosted" thread I did post a round by round play-by-play of our match. We finished it up this morning, and since my friend woke me up it didn't occur to me to track each round and take pictures after the round this morning. It was a very close match though. The CR-90 only had 1 hull left and 2 shields at the end.
