Starfighters Owners’ Workshop Manual

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in Star Wars: Armada

"To illustrate how an X-wing’s Strike foils, or S-foils, unfold, I selected two sequential still frames from the original theatrical version of Star Wars [from 1977]. At George Lucas’s instruction, Industrial Light & Magic revised the special effects for this scene in [1997’s] Star Wars: Special Edition, and made the X-wings break out of formation while their wings unfolded. Because Lucasfilm considers the revised version “canon,” I didn’t know whether they’d allow Haynes to use the earlier still frames, but I’m glad that they did, simply because the original version more clearly illustrates the X-wing’s S-foils in operation." - Ryder Windham

Here here! I want to buy this man a beer! 😂

Still no reason to miscategorize it 😉

I guess that would be resolved by more people visiting off topic in such a drought.

Bought the TIE fighter version of it after this post and I already found a major discrepancy. It dates the Interceptor (or the impulse for its development) to the 16th year of the new order. The problem is that the second sister flies one in Fallen Order, in the 5th or 6th year IIRC. Tbf the author couldn't know it, since even by the publication Fallen Order was far from release. BUT Respawn could have better represented the era it's depicting by using a black Eta-2-Actis instead.

Agreed though In my head her interceptor is just an incredibly early prototype.
