Airen Cracken and debrit gambit

By Minimono, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Scenario:

Airen Cracken is using primary attack and triggers the pilot ability: giving a red action to another pilot with debrid gambit. The debrid gambit talent is this:

”while you perform a red evade action, if there is a obstacle in range 0-1, treat the action a white instead. ”

My question is: if there is an obstacle in range 0-1 of the pilot that is given a red action, and he then perform that red evade, but then can treat it as white instead, will the pilot be stressed?

Quote

If two or more effects would alter the color of an action from its default color (e.g. “treat the action as red” ), the action is treated as the most restrictive of those colors.

You can't treat this action as white.

an argument as to why you should be able to treat the action as white can be made, as in debris gambit would make the already red evade action white. how ever, since two effects alter the red evade action (airen cracken lets you perform the red evade action, treating it as red and debris gambit lets you perform a red evade evade action treating it as white), the rules reference states that the action is treated as the most difficult of those colors.

additionally, even if the ship equipped with debris gambit already has a white evade action on it's action bar, airen crackens ability still makes you treat the action as red, as stated by the last paragraph in the rules reference on action difficulty. the most restrictive colour always wins.
