Last night, following a game of Ten Candles, I agreed to prepare a one-shot for some friends. Being able to quickly teach the game and start playing are key goals. I'd really just like to showcase the Genesys narrative system and let them see the dice. Moreover, the theme I promised was Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy so the systems absolutely cannot get in the way of pacing and comedy. Here's where I'm starting:
Each character will have three traits, no skills. The traits are vigor, cunning, and charm. They'll be given three emoji stickers to assign to them: one smiley face, one frowny face, and one meh face.
The standard dice pool for all checks will be 3 green, 2 purple. If the character is rolling their smiley trait, they upgrade the ability dice once; if they're rolling their frowny trait, they upgrade the difficulty dice once. Story points can also be spent for additional upgrades. Boost and setback dice can be added as normal. Being a H2G2 game, I'll encourage the players to describe the results of advantage and threat in humorous ways. uc browser shareit appvn
