Nemesis Schemes

By Cornwolf, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

So I had my first game over the weekend I love the game but I just had a quick question about how Nemesis work as I had one come up on my game.

Like the main villain and the scheme if you remove all the thread it's done, game over you win. Does this work the same with nemesis?

First of all, you can never remove the main scheme. If you get it’s threat to 0, it stays there and continues to build back up until it reaches its target or you defeat the Villain.

With a side scheme, they enter play with a certain amount of threat and are removed when the threat is gone. Dealing with side schemes doesn’t get you any closer to victory, but controls how fast the Villain can win, so they need to be managed.

Nemesis side schemes and other cards are set aside at the start of the game. If the Card ‘Shadows of the Past’ comes out as your encounter card during the game, you put your Nemesis into play engaging you and their side scheme into play. The other 3 cards are shuffled into the encounter deck. The Nemesis side scheme is treated like any other side scheme - once all threat is removed from it, it’s discarded to the Encounter discard pile.

Ok thanks, I thought that once the threat from the main Villain had gone that was it done, its good to talk haha.
