some questions about Y'golonac and affilation

By insaned, in CoC Rules Discussion

Hello, worshippers! I Have some questions.

about Y’Ggolonac’s action.
1. Can I use it to not exhausted character?
2. Can I use it to my character after I commited characters to stories?(if I’m active player and if I oppose)
3. Can I use it to opponent’s character after He commited characters to stories? (if I’m active player and if I oppose)
4. Can I use it to character (my character and opponent character)that have been uncommitted from resolved story to commit it to next story that will be resolved?

About affilation
1. Have neutral cards any affilation? Can I use “The black Goat’s Rage” if I have neutral card 1) in play (location for example), 2) as a resource.
Thx for help

about " after you succeede at story"

what does it means? is it = to place succes token as a result of "skill struggle" or if i place token is a result of investigation struggle too?

1) You can use it on a character that is not exhausted.

2) You can use it on your characters after you commit. However, it will not allow you to then commit those characters readied by Y'golnac. You would do this in order to refresh characters with abilities you'd want to trigger that require exhausting

3) You can use it on your opponent's characters after they commit. Again, it will only ready those exhausted characters though. They won't be able to commit as that part of the phase is already gone. Again, this is legal, but would only be done for some other purpose (overpaying for an effect would be one example)

4) You can use it on something that has been uncomitted (regardless of owner) but it won't allow a re-committal.

Basically... to answer all these questions...

Y'Golnac's ability doesn't allow for any additional commits once a player has committed their characters. The ability to force a commit (pre commit step) exists independent of the "ready a character" part. (There's something in the FAQ about that BTW).

I forget the ruling on the faction / neutral issue. I'll leave the answer to that to others.

Succeeding at a story is in reference to winning the skill struggle portion. (So after all the icon struggles). And no, investigation does not trigger "succeeding at a story".
