Historical Society

By alboy, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

l drew a location card while l was on the Historical Society, l tried & failed a Luck check & dozed off & enter The Dreamlands, have one encounter there then immediately return here.

l have two questions.

1) Do l actually move my Characters token to The Dreamlands to have one encounter, then move the token back to the Historical Society.

2) When l return to the Historical Society do l have to draw another location card. i.e. Having a total of three encounters in a single turn.

"Pay $3 fee to gain access to the private library. If you refuse, move to the street. If you pay, make a Luck (-1) check. If you pass, you learn an ancient spell from a dusty ledger. Draw 1 Spell. If you fail, you doze off and enter The Dreamlands. Have an encounter there, then immediately return here."

This should be the encounter you are referring to.

(1) In this case, you do 'pseudo' physically move your investigator to the Dreamlands, and have an encounter. Unless you go insane or unconscious as a result of the encounter, in which case you'd be lost in time and space (unless you're playing as Sister Mary), otherwise you do immediately move your character back to Historical Society after the encounter.

(2) There is no mention of having another encounter back at the Historical Society, the Dreamlands encounter is your final encounter for the investigator for that round. That is, your investigator would have had (i) the Historical Society encounter (listed above) and (ii) the Dreamlands encounter.

This is one of the few times where you have an OW encounter during Phase 3: Arkham Encounter.

Thanks Jumesyn, for the information you supplied.
