B2’s and esteemed leader

By Rebel-Smuggler, in Star Wars: Legion

I wonder how much the heavy weapon will make a difference in if they are worth it? The cards show one that is range 2-3 (I think) and the other has three red dice.

I also wonder if this unit is more of a long term plan. They may not work now because of how expensive everything is now, but if CIS does get a cheap commander and a few other cheap units to throw in then maybe upgrading a few B1s into B2s will not matter in a 12 activation list???? They did say in the Q&A that anything over 12 activations sort of stops being helpful......

I feel like the one with the Cannon will be interesting. Cycle seems like it might let it refresh itself. Also has blast and impact 2.

When did this become about clones, go find your own thread replicas!

I am glad somebody said it.

Back to B2's not being better than B1's please.

I am planning on picking up one unit and trying it out. I've had some success with coms relay on 2 B1s to assign orders to my Droideka every important turn, and adding in B2s kinda kills that chain. And I cant help but have flash backs to my unsuccessful attempts to use wookies and fleets when I look at B2s.

B2's are Droid Troopers, so you can put one unit at the end of a chain and have it benefit from Coordinate. B2's just cannot keep the chain going.

I plan to get at least two units to fill out my corp slots (I have four units of B1's from dual core boxes). I just worry that they are going to be too expensive to take more than one unit.

I know, it's the not being able to keep the chain going that makes it awkward, I've been running 2 B1s with uplinks with the idea being I can chain orders through B1s, end on the relay units who then pass onto the droideka (with targeting uplinks) and between my command cards and uplinks I can get the droideka orders just about every turn.

I could put the uplinks on B2, but that puts me having to choose between B2s or droideka for orders at the end of the chain, and I'm sure I want to do that, sure short range means I can still choose what I'm doing most turns, but I miss out on surge tokens on one of the units and aims on the droideka if I keep the targeting uplinks depending on who I choose gets the order.

Do you mean "Comms Relay" instead of "Uplinks"?

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but Droidekas cannot get orders from B1s - they're not troopers!

comms relay is what they were using to send the order to the Droidekas

I have a feeling that they wanted you to take one or two to have a specific role. Especially since the weapons options look like 3 red dice at range 1-2 or a 2 red/1 white at are 2-3 with blast/impact. A versatile unit that could be up close fighting for objectives or a turret taking out units in cover/armor while blocking 3 hits before even rolling dice.

My fear is that B1s are just so darn cost effective and with 4 different heavy weapons they they may do everything better? Why not take HQ uplink and the rocket launcher, most likely cheaper, can survive a hit just based off of having 8 a unit, and having a range of 3-4.

Yes, sorry.

Yeah, unless the B2's come out and they change how guardian works. I don't seem them being more useful than a full unit of 8 B1's
