Hi, just curious does the conversion kit come with basic Epic game rules or will I have to purchase the Epic Battles expansion?
Is Epic Battles required to play an epic game?
Mine is on its way but I believe that the conversion kit only come with tools/rules for playing huge ships. If you want the wing tools/epic rules you’ll need to buy the epic expansion kit. If you just want to buy the re-paints of the huge ships then you won’t need the conversion kit, the rules for huge ships come in the latest huge ship expansion packs (CR-90 & Imperial Raider

Epic games and Huge Ships are separate. You can play the Epic Battles scenarios without Huge Ships, and you can use Huge Ships in standard casual 200 point games
The Huge Ship Conversion Kit gives you everything you need to play a normal game of X-Wing with huge ships.
The Epic Kit will give you scenarios and the ability to include wings in your games. You don't need the epic kit to play with huge ships.

Just remember that the old Epic is no longer that. It is just called "Huge Ships".
Considering all the scenarios are spoiled and online, you’ll only be missing the wing tools and the remotes. If you’re playing against someone for epic, then most likely they’ll have those. I would prioritize the huge ship conversion.
The good news is that both are fairly inexpensive and can be easily budgeted for. Get the conversion kit. Go from there.

Agreed. It is rather affordable and you get physical stuff. Easier to just get instead of avoiding it. Also, more that are sold means more stuff like that.
Yes, I hope that these sell well. I'd love to see more missions/scenarios - especially with a narrative campaign option, a single or coop system similar to HotAC, and more in the way of huge ships and wings. I'd also really like more official quickbuilds for wings and the huge ships.
To run an Epic game or campaign, I'd imagine yes someone will need to have bought the Epic Battles set. If for no other reason then for the full rules and the Wing related stuff (ID cards and positioning tool).
Huge ships, to my knowledge, are suppose to come with the rules needed to run them. And they can be ran in casual games, so long as the game has a high enough point value to allow the ship. Of course running a fully loaded CR90 in a 200 point game might not be a smart move since it'll be your only ship.
