Mandalorian trailer 2
Seconded! Oooo.... Mandos! B-2s! HMPs! Trandoshans! Bluurgs! Death Troopers! Nothing so far that doesn't have me thrilled beyond belief... I think I also spotted a Lancer-class pursuit craft!
Notice the armour change through the trailer ... I wonder how quickly he gets the beskar (or whatever it is supposed to be) to replace the coloured stuff. They show it off at least twice, blaster bolts just dink'ing off it.
Me likes.

Oh! I didn't notice that! In the exclusive sneak peek footage, (potential spoiler)
The guy offered him Beskar as the reward for a job, so that is probably when.

I also notice he's wearing the painted stuff when fighting goobers and the shiny when fighting Imperials...
So insert lame prediction that he'll start pulling Imperial and Civil bounties and the switch to shiny will be a visual representation of when he decides to be a "good guy."
Also I love the effects on that Quarran. I always like seeing old cheesy sci-fi stuff updated like that. Not fully "reimagined" just when they take the old and say "OK, this is the approved concept art, now lets make it with modern budgets, materials and techniques."
There was a clip (not sure if it was in this trailer) where he smashed the Quarren's head into the bar, which reminded me of the picture of Boba Fett in the EotE CRB where he's smashing the Quarren's head into the bar.
Upgraded armor! It's like watching a live action RPG

Don't think I didn't notice the dude with the Automated Weapon Mounting from FO...
Cannot wait . The 5-minute "sneak peek" circulated months ago really hooked me, not least because it was actual footage and a demo of Favreau/Filoni's understanding of how to do Star Wars.
But, yeah. I want to see these characters in action, to see new spins on things we thought we knew about.
My suspicion is that Disney's seriously assessing whether, despite its origins, Star Wars is best presented as serial TV where it has twice as much screen time for different settings, beats and moods. Time will tell.

I'd be fine with that, honestly. It would be a fun callback to the original serial inspirations Lucas had.

Oh, they'll always make films. While a TV series might bring in money over time, the big rapidly reportable profits from a theatrical release is worth it both for money and stock values.
What they're doing is trying to find that sweet spot where the TV series is bringing in long-term profits and maintaining interest in the IP without generating fan fatigue of the films.
And yes, I still think Solo was intentionally mis-managed as a cover story to allow Disney to back out of the "one Star Wars a Year" promise while saving face with investors and fans.

Maybe, but it makes me sad. I think Solo is very underrated. It was no Rogue One, but it was a fun heist movie. Alden Ehrenreich was put in a really difficult position, but he did a decent job. I wish it had been released a few months later to let the backlash from TLJ die down.
Oh, well. Here's hoping The Mandalorian is more successful, IT LOOKS AWESOME!

That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day, and I've been talking to a flat earther.

Fixed that for you.

There were a lot of people who didn't go see that movie because they were still mad about TLJ. Whether you agree with them or not.
I confess that when I first heard about this one I thought "meh."
I was never a big Boba Fett fan or into the Mandalorians much.
I was (and am) more interested in Ewan McGregor reprising his role as Kenobi.
However... this trailer hints at real promise. I'm definitely going to check it out.

I admit it's the tinfoil hat wearing part of me, but they've done that sort of thing before...

I agree. Solo is very underrated. The way I explain it is "Solo isn't much of a Star Wars film, but its a fantastic Edge of The Empire movie."

What evidence do you have?

We're a few years dow, the line and oes the backlash look like it's going to die down any time soon? Do you know how many people on youtube and similar there are whose livelyhood depends on keeping the outrage alive?
There were two main things that damaged Solo.
First there was Disney that made the stupid decision of overruling Lucasfilm nad moving the film's release date from December to May, having it compete with Endgame and a bunch of other blockbusters. Secondly there was the directorial troubles, with the massive reshoots that caused ballooning the film's budget to the point it would be almost impossible for the film to be very profitable.
But I suspect that the film's real sin was that the general audience just doesn't care for essentially Wookiepedia articles put on the screen.
QuoteAnd yes, I still think Solo was intentionally mis-managed as a cover story to allow Disney to back out of the "one Star Wars a Year" promise while saving face with investors and fans.
Why would they even need a cover story to back out? I mean, they sacrificed 300+ million dollars and two sequel movies for a cover story? Plus, it's a cover story that makes them look comically inept and doesn't let them save face at all.

Don’t recall saying no one used the extremely faulty logic of not liking one movie so choosing not to see a different movie made by different writers, director, and cast with only a tangentially related story. Just that their specific impact wasn’t as dramatic as they’d like to believe.
Yeah, the biggest problem with Solo - aside from being release so close to Infinity War - is that I suspect very few people but hardcore Deep Lore Star Wars fans care about Han Solo's origin, or at least in the sense of getting that specific with it. The general population and the young folks who are growing up with the Sequel Trilogy want to see more of Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, and Kylo, not the old guy from The Force Awakens.
There wasn't a connection to him like a lot of the older fans may have, and that's not a big enough cohort to draw the big money, especially when I imagine overseas markets don't have the same connection, either. Rogue One, while the story conceit was connected to the old, it was new characters and a fresh narrative. It also came out in December.
Anyway, is it November 12th yet?
I've never cared much for his origins or backstory, but I still loved the movie. It was a great SW:EotE style movie for me.

Oh, same, I love it. I just think it wasn't something a lot of folks grasped onto easily.
