Quadjumpers are $4 on Amazon

By FatherTurin, in X-Wing

Well, $4.18 to be exact, but figured someone here may be interested.

Yup. I just ordered 6, lol.

If they ever drop that price I’m ready!

1e Hounds Tooth / YV-666 is ~$8. 1e TIE Bomber and Interceptors are also around that same price. Those are the cheap cheaps right now, but Upsilons and E-Wings have been bobbling down to that price before someone buys one and resets the market.

So are you saying that someone just reset the price of quadjumpers? hehe

Punishers and Phantoms were on sale last week. My wife got me 2&1, respectively, as a B-Day gift. :D Already have my Zuvio Ace's High tug.

Thank you for the tip! My buddy was just saying over the weekend how he was going to add the Hound’s Tooth to his Christmas list. At the time, it was $10. Now I got it for him for $8!

It’s been hovering around that price for a while. I just played 5 against my buddy this past weekend; I subsequently ordered a sixth.

Good? Not really. Amusing? Heck yes!

Down to $4.07 now. I finally gave in and purchased 4 more quad jumpers, for 6 total.

I just ordered 5.

That's five that I'll never see on a table against me. Sequestered away for all time. Exiled from the material plane. Doomed to stay in my oubliette of horrors. Forgotten to rot away in the entropy of times passing.

BEGONE VILE TRACTOR BEAMS!!! I BANISH YOU FROM THE LAND!!!

YOU!

SHALL NOT!!!

PLAY!!!!!!

MUWAHAHA HAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHA HAHAHAH

AHAHA HAHAH

Haha

*ahem* 'scuse me there. Bit of a throat tickle that was.

Sounds like mistakes were made.

You’re right. Epic is about to be released- I should have ordered more Quadjumpers. ;)

Actually, this raises an interesting question: could we fly multiple full wings of six of the same ships? If so, does this sudden discount doom us to an eternity of Quad-wings?!

Does one win a special prize for flying quad-Quad-wings? 🧐

Man, I hate living on the wrong side of the planet. Those prices are great, but reliably shipping them to me will still make it near unaffordable. :(

1. From what I can find right now, yes. Unless your gaming group chooses to ban that (casual multiplayer game, expect some house rulings at least). Nothing in the Epic Rules Reference blocking it. For that matter the only rule that can be considered to be restricting spamming the same ship (other than limited pips) that I can find in Second Edition is the 2-8 ship list size requirement for standard tournament play. Ask again when the Epic Battles Rulebook becomes available, for some reason that hasn't been made available in pdf form on their main site. Just the ERR.

2. Nope, just run them over with a freight train 😈 (huge ships ramming smaller ships and tractoring huge ship rules from the 1.0.6 Rules Reference):

Overlapping Standard Ships
After a huge ship overlaps a standard ship, the standard ship suffers Icon damage crit
damage equal to the speed of the huge ship’s revealed maneuver. Then, the
standard ship is picked up and set aside until the huge ship completes its
maneuver. See Example of Overlapping a Standard Ship.
After the huge ship completes its maneuver, each standard ship that was
picked up is placed in the huge ship’s full rear arc [ Icon arc full back ] at range 0–1. Starting
with the first player, players take turns placing any of their standard ships that
were picked up. Any standard ship that cannot be placed is destroyed. After
a player places their ship, they must choose an opponent, who may rotate the
ship 90° to the left or right using the position marker from the core set.
After all ships are placed, the huge ship rolls one attack die for each small
ship it overlapped, two for each medium ship, and three for each large ship;
for each Icon damage hit result, the huge ship gains one stress token, and for each Icon damage crit
result the huge ship suffers one Icon damage crit damage.

TRACTOR
A huge ship is tractored while it has six or more tractor tokens. After a
huge ship becomes tractored, it is not moved as a standard ship would be.
Otherwise, a huge ship interacts with tractor tokens in the same manner as a
standard ship (see Tractor).

woohoo, I bought 1! good price at $3.99 ($4.30 total)

I grabbed 3, for a total of 4 in my collection. I don't really see myself using them much normally but they could make a good cargo transport stand-in for scenarios

*looks at Amazon USA website*

Ooh, $4 each!

*clicks on "ship this item free in Australia"*

*price changes to $36.99 per ship when Amazon AUS loads*

:(

Would love to visit Australia, but man having anything shipped there is not cheap.

I bought one last week so I’m at a grand total of 2. I can’t fathom buying more. The wing sounds hilarious but not something I’m going to actually do. Odds are too good that a wing of them won’t all be able to tractor the same thing anyway (and what would be the point unless you needed 3 for a large ship?)

Wondering if Black Friday in a month or so will turn up a bunch more deals like this.

Also, the 1.0 YV is down to sub-7.50 on Amazon. Haven’t nabbed one yet but I can’t figure out why I would need that second one.

I'm legitimately tempted to buy a couple, but I honestly haven't flown the two I have since 1e, and I'm not sure I can see myself doing it again for quite a while. Certainly not en masse.

Yet... here I am feeling like I'm missing out on a bargain anyway...

I'm tempted to buy several as well. Does anyone have any decent lists using multiple Jakku Gunrunners? Ever since the point cost increase I rarely ever see more than one in a list.

Thanks! I picked up 3 quadjumpers and 2 yv-666, both ships I didn't previously own. Shipping to Canada cost only slightly less than the ships, but I still got the five for about $48 US/$66 CAD. Considering I was about to buy the yv-666 at $35 CAD each, that's still a nice savings!

Thanks for posting.

Also, at the risk of stating the obvious, the scum conversion kit has enough stuff to convert 3 quadjumpers and 2 yv-666, so make sure you have enough kits to convert what you buy!

I don’t have a good list, but I’ve found that my first instinct of giving them Pattern Analyzers didn’t fully pan out; they’re just so weird about clearing stress that it’s not always optimal to worry about getting your action. This last game it was pretty fun to load them up with Electronic Baffles and Dead Man’s Switches instead. E-baffle overcomes the worst of their weirdness in situations where you can’t get around it, while DMS is just stupid fun and a disincentive for your opponent to shoot them.

I’m gonna keep trying things to see if I can find an optimally fun loadout. E-baffle + Pattern would really open their dial up, though it gets pricey. E-baffle + Advanced Optics might let them punch harder. But I also need to goof around with devices and Delayed Fuses, too...

Hounds Tooth is now $6.19 each. They were $8 last week. SELL SELL BEFORE THE RE-RELEASE. Single YV-666 conversion packs are cheap too on EBay, that convert 2.

Quadjumpers have bottomed out at $4.

Hounds Tooth are back up to $39.98! Great work everyone! We bought all the cheap ones prior to the re-release coming out!

You do need 3 for a huge ship, but those cannot be moved by tractoring, you just get it into the "tractored" state with defense dice penalty.

You can tractor a large ship with 2, or Unkar by himself if he manages to bullseye tractor + block.
