By Derrault, in Marvel Champions: The Card Game

Just got done with Green Goblin I/II with Goblin Gimmicks.

Played with Captain Leadership and Iron Man Justice.

This is a strong team for a 2 player game. Threat on scheme was basically at 0 the entire game. Had Hawkeye out for any minions, combined with iron mans gauntlets just deleted minions with ease. FOLLOWED, the new justice card is pure gold for iron man. Its an energy resource, and with Arc Reactor, iron man thwarts twice for 4 total on a side scheme eleiminating it, and then deals 4 damage. And with Stark Tower or Pepper Potts or Hellicarrier, Followed is basically free to play.

Captain was great control for anything I needed. He could flip goblin whenever I needed it with his double attack, and was constantly getting allies out. He never did super damage in one go, but he can attack for two, shield toss for 4dmg, allies can each attack for 1 or 2, then avengers assemble and do it all again. Its also nice, being steve rogers, and recover, flip to cap, ready him, and attack or thwart. Captain America really does feel like he just keeps going and going. Never short on things to do on Captains turn. Great all-around character for team-ups.

This duo beat goblin pretty easily without being in trouble.

Played a Ms. Marvel deck, protection but my own brew, to see if Tackle was broken in that deck in solo.

It is.

Villain was stun locked every turn. I either had a fist icon or her biometric suit and exhausted her to get back my Tackle. Stayed in hero form the whole game and was only attacked by encounter cards.

10/10 easy mode

I played through Klaw with Ms. Marvel. It took a long time, but I finally beat it. Once I had her persona supports out things played better. I still need to play with her a bit more to really get the rhythm of her deck.

I also ran Cap through Klaw, but I traded a Quinjet out for Maria Hill and a Strength in Numbers out for another Make the Call. Once I was able to get the Super Soldier Serums, Avenger's Tower, and Steve's Apartment out I was able to easily put together enough cards to throw out allies and Heroic Strikes. There were a few times I was able to use Maria Hill to thwart/block her way into the discard pile, then use Make the Call to pull her right back out again. The Quinjet was able to get Hawkeye out for me, but unfortunately it happened later in the game because even though I had drawn it and put it out in the first turn, Hawkeye turned up in the next turn and it was better to use him as a resource than use my other cards to pay for him. The very last turn I used Maria to thwart the last two off of The "Immortal" Klaw, dropping him down to 12 and had enough resources to play the two Heroic Strikes I had in my hand. My favorite part of the whole thing was bouncing Maria Hill in and out of the discard pile. As Zach from TC says, she's the hardest working woman in the core box.

Played through Ultron with Cap three times. Traded the second Quinjet out for the Triskelion and took out Mockingbird to put in Vision. I also traded in a Down Time in place of an Honorary Avenger.

In the first game I had Ultron II down to 2 HP, was down to 1 HP myself, had exhausted to block an attack, used my last ally to eat another attack, and drew Assault. I did not have Cap's Helmet out (dumb move on my part) and instead of pressing the attack against him the previous turn decided to be clever (not so much, as it turns out) so I lost. Boo.

Having learned my lesson, in the second attempt I got the helmet out as soon as I got it. My board was built really fast, with a Super Soldier Serum and Avenger's Tower showing up in the first draw. I think it was the second turn that Steve's Apartment showed up, and by turn four I pretty much had out both serums, the Quinjet with three counters, Falcon, Hawkeye, and had bounced Maria Hill back from the discard pile at least once. I discovered Squirrel Girl is awesome against Ultron. If you've got a ridiculous number of drones sitting in front of you and you have the ability to put her into play, she'll wipe the board clean. I handily beat Ultron with no issues.

The third time I couldn't for the life of me get anything to show up besides the two serums and Steve's Apartment. I was able to get Vision out in the first turn and used him to attack for four. Had the helmet out as well. Maria Hill was apparently taking a spa day and every one of my Make the Calls ended up in the discard, along with Squirrel Girl. As the final encounter card, I drew Shadows of the Past and had four drones already sitting in front of me with 12 HP left on Ultron II. Nothing was running the way I tweaked the deck to do and I still managed to pull out a really great win using Wonder Man, Vision, and Hawkeye (and to be fair, Maria did show up to thwart a couple of times, but she was late to the party) and Avengers Assemble along with a Heroic Strike.
