Not very good at links and pics and such, figured it was better to get the info out. Most know where the pdf’s are if they frequent these boards.

That works.
GR-75 feels affordable. With a turret slot too! Should be like a support VCX on coordinate steroids.

Somebody needs to get these into a listbuilder so I can theorycraft. Execute.

Knowing raithos it should be ready in a few days at the latest, barring issues with how the rules interact with them.

Usually it’s a couple hours but I suppose the huge ships may impact the underlying coding unless he took account for huge ships earlier
Raider and Tantive seem pretty pricey. But when you consider that Epic games are recommended to have 500 points per player, that's pretty cheap. Makes Epic games truly feel epic. Can't wait to get my hands on 2x conversion kits.
Hype is real. Can’t wait to bust out the big ships again.
QuoteAllied ships are not treated as friendly ships.
Allied ships are not treated as enemy ships.
Very interesting.

I thought recommended points was 400?

They're pricey because they can be very nasty. Remember that Huge ships are also legal for casual 200v200 games

I think the points per player is arbitrary. There's references of 300 500 and 600 points in the rules reference. I think its up to the players how many points each player gets. Or we have to wait for Epic tournament rules. Or in the Epic Battles rulebook.

As @Hiemfire said. Things to consider:
- Automatic regen each turn
- Can ignore the bonus attack limit per turn
- has very long range, beyond that of puny VCX and Decimator models
- built in coolness factor
I realize that last point may not account for much in a standard game, but it's clearly where most of the points were applied.

Actually, if you reread my OP, I said they "seem" pricey. But when you consider each player getting 300, 500, to 600 points, then its a good deal.
Epic just means scenarios from Epic Battles. They have a range of points and you don't have to have a Huge ship.
Friendly games can have as many points as you want.

Nah, caught that too. Not really arguing with you, just highlighting things for future readers. Particularly the coolness, that can't be understated. It's like, 20% cooler.
Really, there's the potential these things will still be overpriced. Or tremendously underpriced. FFG just took another big step and we'll see how close the points are once we start putting the ships on the table. I'm looking forward to it. I'll be showing up with a 200-point huge ship list in the days after release.
There is also the Epic Battles Rules Refernce posted on the main 2nd Ed page.

Cooler most definitely! I also like how FFG has a cap limit how many points you can sink into an Epic ship:
QuoteEach squadron can spend a maximum of half its available squad points , rounded up, on huge ships and their equipped upgrades .
I wish FFG released the Epic Battles rulebook. That way, we can see how many points are recommended per scenario.

This makes me sad. I really liked in 1e when FFG changed the requirements for epic squad building and required at least 1 epic ship per player. Cuz now we'll have the same issue where swarms of generic will trump any player with an epic ship + escorts.

Are we sure on that? A well equipped Raider looks to be about 200 points. On paper anyway, I think they could go toe-toe with any 200 points you can field in regular ships. The shield regen will be huge.

Maybe. If it's balanced, it might hold it's own... maybe... Lot of theory here without a firm foundation.
So running the numbers quickly on a swarm: Immediately discard the possibility that a swarm ship is deleted beyond range 3 (which is not impossible, looking at you, droids) a reinforced Raider is taking a maximum of 8 damage at range 2 or 3. The probability of taking a full eight decreases, obviously, at range 3. Now, that Raider is going to regen two shields back so that maximum is now effectively only six damage before the next firing phase. The Raider does get to fire back, of course, with potentially multiple weapons and can potentially thin the herd as it were. This also reduces the maximum damage per turn.
I'm not saying this is an easy fight, or potentially even fair, but I'm not entirely convinced its an assured victory.

Epic is now completely and utterly different from what it was. Epic = Scenarios. Epic is now 500 pt games with objective based points as well as FFG's version if Hunger Games where each person gets only 1 ship. If you are playing "epic " you are playing one of the 11 scenarios from the boxed set
To that end, there could be some scenarios that have goals better met by a Huge ship better than many small ships.
I still find it weird that the Resistance gets the GR-75 instead of the CR90. Like we have seen the Resistance have CR90s since S1 of resistance, and now the Tantive is in the Rise of Skywalker. I think they did it this to keep every epic ship as only 2 factions, but I still think the Resistance got cheated.

Bets that the CR90 in the teaser came as much as a surprise to FFG as it did to us? Confirmation it's the Tantive came how?
Flavour-wise... the GR-75 made sense since the Resistance is very small and ill-equipped.
As for the Resistance in Epic... if this stuff sells, FFG may give the Resistance something with a little more flair. This is a placeholder.
