Epic points pdf is up

This makes me sad. I really liked in 1e when FFG changed the requirements for epic squad building and required at least 1 epic ship per player. Cuz now we'll have the same issue where swarms of generic will trump any player with an epic ship + escorts.

I spoke too soon. Last page of Epic Rules Ref has guides for Epic Events.

Max 6 dice for attack or defense.

That's probably good to have

Although I was looking forward to boatloads of dice

ALLIED = ships that are controlled by another player on the same team.
FRIENDLY = ships that are under your control.
=====
Command Upgrades - each ship has ONE command upgrade.
=====
A huge ship can perform as many bonus attacks as it wants per turn. You can only do each one once.
=====
Huge ship gets ionized when it has 6 ion tokens.
=====
Huge ships obstruct. Add 1 green die.

Raider and Tantive seem pretty pricey. But when you consider that Epic games are recommended to have 500 points per player, that's pretty cheap. Makes Epic games truly feel epic. Can't wait to get my hands on 2x conversion kits.

I dunno. Raider at least seems like it took a fairly big drop to me.

  • CR-90
    • 146, compared to ~180 (2e equlvalent of 1e); 81.1% of 1e cost
  • C-ROC
    • 58, compared to ~70 (2e equlvalent of 1e); 82.8% of 1e cost
  • Gozanti
    • 60, compared to ~80 (2e equlvalent of 1e); 75% of 1e cost
  • GR-75
    • 55, compared to ~60 (2e equlvalent of 1e); 91.6% of 1e cost
  • Raider
    • 150, compared to ~200 (2e equlvalent of 1e), 75% of 1e cost

Is just point changes the best way to view them? A lot is changing in this edition. Best not to think of the old.

Oh, what's the meme? You know, something about the past needing to pass on. Possibly with help?

I think that it is important to point out that that is just a suggestion. Epic has not set point or requirements. Which is fine.

A lot is changing, but before we all get this stuff on the table, we need something of a frame of reference. If we're trying to figure out if stuff seems overpriced, this is all we have. Things aren't so different that it's entirely inappropriate as a first impression.

Maybe, though are you taking into account that every Huge ship received a fairly massive points reduction in the transition from 1.0 to 2.0 beyond what a first glance might indicate? Going based off your listed 1.0 costs and adjusting for 2.0 rough equivalent:

Gozanti : 1.0 was 80, 2.0 rough equivalent to 1.0 is 160, priced at 60. 62.5% reduction

C-ROC : 1.0 was 70, 2.0 rough equivalent to 1.0 is 140, priced at 58. 58.6% reduction

GR-75 : 1.0 was 60, 2.0 rough equivalent to 1.0 is 120, priced at 55. 54.2% reduction

CR-90 : 1.0 was 180, 2.0 rough equivalent to 1.0 is 360, priced at 146. 59.5% reduction

Raider : 1.0 was 200, 2.0 rough equivalent to 1.0 is 400, priced at 150. 62.5% reduction

Does the way splitting from wings work mean that an ionized ship that was in a wing doesn't use the normal ionization effect, instead doing the 2 straight and stress effect at end of activation phase?

No, it is ionized when it receive the ion, witch is usually on the turn before the dial is set.

If a ship is ionized before his activation, yes, it gets a 2 straight and stress.

Yeah, you've missed that I already doubled the 1e points. When you quadruple the 1e costs, it really looks like the price too a massive cut, but...

What is the release date of the Epic conversion kit?

Actually, Ionized or Tractored ships are automatically knocked out of the Wing (per the new rules). So, an ionized ship would just go 1 forward on its turn and not be part of the wing.

True, but you know how people are. It's going to be considered gospel as peoples are begging for a format.

I don't think it's official, but I'm seeing Nov 8 in a few places like Amazon.

Bets that the CR90 in the teaser came as much as a surprise to FFG as it did to us? Confirmation it's the Tantive came how?

Flavour-wise... the GR-75 made sense since the Resistance is very small and ill-equipped.

As for the Resistance in Epic... if this stuff sells, FFG may give the Resistance something with a little more flair. This is a placeholder.

He was literally talking about The Resistance TV show yo.

Epic just means scenarios from Epic Battles. They have a range of points and you don't have to have a Huge ship.

Friendly games can have as many points as you want.

FLGS confirmed with distributer that it’s the day.

I missed that it was talking about what happens if you don't have a dial in the section I was referring to (paragraph at end of forced splitting). New stuff.

This section is a suggestion, not a requirement, but I'd certainly expect most official FFG epic events to use this rule.
