Pretty simple really, Fenn and Guri hunt and arc dodge, the Hired gun makes trouble in the middle by blocking, bombing, and being a nuisance with agi 4(3), 8 hp and intimidation, cheap tanky little nuisance.

I dunno. I've never been a fan of speedbumps. They often don't feel like the accomplish enough. Something like Talonbane Cobra is about the same price (maybe toss on Crack Shot) and can put out actual damage. Not quite as tanky, but it'll still be 4 green dice at Range 3, so you should be able to get into Range 1 for the 5-dice attacks. Graz would also work, since he gets a lot scarier if ignored.

Having a 3rd threat--rather than a ship like the Y-Wing which pretty much can't deal damage--probably draws more fire from the rest of your list.

Alternately, a big blocking beasty like a generic YT-1300 might work. That's also a lot of health, and can really clog up lanes.

I'm with BF on this. The Y just doesn't scare me enough.

Or leave off the title on the bounty hunter and up the Crack Shot to Predator on both.

That's three legit damage dealing ships.

I really like this idea and think it has a lot of potential to be explored.

What are other similar options?

Doing the same with a K-fighter would allow for 1-hard turns for better blocking. Maybe even some ion-shennanigans.

Can a G1A so the Stealth-Cloak-Intimidation as well? That upgrade your base size to Medium which would be even more awesome at blocking.

G1a could potentially bring a crew like OOO or some other passive control effect that doesn't require you to have shots.

I see how your bomb build on the Y is working in that direction.

I'm just wondering if you can crank it up a couple more notches.

A Lok with an Ion turret cannon and VTG, Fenn and Guri still leaves 10 points for upgrades, assuming you don't care about a bid.

Or leave off the VTG, and go with 18 points of upgrades.

One advantage of the Y-wing over other options is being Hyperspace legal.

Given that Guri+Fenn is a passable list by themselves with more toys and a huge bid, I'm curious if the Y-wing here might be able to make up the difference against those matchups where Guri+Fenn alone often struggle.

It dies easier. Lacks illicit slot to cloak, you can give it angled deflectors but it's action dependant and lowers hp to equal y-wing, and it also lacks reload.

G1A has no device slot, it's a better blocker, and 4-LOM can bring stress shenanigans, but it adds cost and detracts damage.

If you're thinking Hyperspace, Fenn and Guri as you have them are excellent! The third though really should be able to either punch or clog - I really like the idea of a YT-1300 in the space as an excellent blocker. A Freighter Captain with 0-0-0 speaks to me as a lovely control piece
