I was reading through the threads on how to make both Brobots and double Firesprays be viable in the current meta. And this got me wondering oh what would help double silencers at the least hold their own and what has others here tried that has been successful? Honestly i have yet to really dive deep into this yet but this idea does interest me. What does everyone think about this?
How to make double Silencers compete in the current meta?
Have double silencers ever been a list?
Dang it Boom owl now thats a blast from the past. And yeah i was considering 2 of those pilots myself.

Just bring Tavson, Kylo, and 1 more Silencer and pretend Tavson is someone elses list.
Good idea though i dont know if GI joe would want to fight for the wannabe fascists of a galaxy far away hehe.

I think the lack of any pre-movement repositioning really hurts Blackout's ability to consistently get good use out of his ability. Plus, he's probably a touch overcosted, and trickshot went up to 4 points in the last update. None of those things in and of themselves are too terrible. But cumulatively, they keep Blackout from being all that viable. And I4 is just a bit too low to make Recoil (who also has a bit of a lackluster ability) or the First Order Test Pilot all that useful as a wingmate for Kylo.
if two silencers and no third ship is viable, something is probably fundamentally wrong with the game
I quite like Boom Owls suggestion above. You’re basically replacing Quickdraw with Recoil from the most successful FO list. That could be seen as a play style choice. I’ve not seen it done before and I think QD is probably better but if you like Silencers it should work
Only way to know is for me to just test it. Thanks for the input everyone.
What even is the meta right now? lol
All the same, Brolencers can be tricky. I advise using 3 ships if you do that. The skill ceiling may be lower than super-decked Kylo and Blackout, but the skill floor is much, much higher. They can be worked to great success: Lucasz Golanki was the runner up of the Bavarian System Open using Kylo, Blackout, and Midnight. Boomowl has a pretty good suggestion as well, and remember to use that Tavson's area control really well because you just lost your I6 upgrading Quickdraw to a Silencer. Can't remember his cybernym on the forums, but Mitchell Hurst (I believe it was) was the runner up of the Denver System Open using a loaded Quickdraw and 2 Fanatical Optic First Order Test Pilots. If your blocking game is impeccable and you can really flex the Silencer's mobility, 3 Silencers can be a sick list. 2 Silencers, like the rest of the FO faction, is a lot of underexplored list-theory. I jumped off that train and into Super Kylo + QD + filler as well as Kylo 2U out of my increasing paranoia of green dice, but I sometimes return to this B-tier list for a good time:
Major Stridan (64)
General Hux (6)
Captain Phasma (5)
Ship total: 75 Half Points: 38 Threshold: 6
First Order Test Pilot (58)
Debris Gambit (4)
Ship total: 62 Half Points: 31 Threshold: 3
First Order Test Pilot (58)
Debris Gambit (4)
Ship total: 62 Half Points: 31 Threshold: 3
Total: 199

Be aware that Hux's downside is that he will demote the white evade from Debris Gambit's proximity to a red one. Thus, typically use him to coordinate the focus actions while they use their own actions to evade. Not a serious list in the least, though. If your local meta is heavy with the bugs, use gas clouds, since this list wants to hang out in obstacles, unless the opponent only has I3 or lower ships remaining.
I do imagine a 2 silencers list is more than likely not for the feint of heart. I also am liking the idea of some kind of third filler though. Especially since they dont start with a good deal of health and no way to add more outside of great blocking and arc dodging. That last part could be tricky with multiple arcs trying to kill them.

This is why I like the suggestion of Tavson.
He’s a bit of an allrounder who can take on a wide variety of lists. He’ll reinforce and tank versus swarms or he’ll jam aces.
Kylo, Tavson with bio codes and Recoil with crack shot fits. I reckon that’s a decent list

I've made one of my World's Invites with Kylo/Blackout doing 5:0 at UK SOS Hyperspace
I faced only 1 Ini6 tho.
When I took this list to the Hyperspace few weeks later I dropped after starting 0:2 with first 2 matchups against Vader/Soontir/Dutchess and Han/Wedge/Thane (so both lists 6,6,5 ;).
Edited by OldparaSounds like they can suffer badly from the initiative kill issue. My question is what was your list? Because i was thinking of using heighten perception for kylo to help with higher initiative pilots if that would help at all.

My Top 16 opponent at the Australian System Open was Kylo + Blackout + Scorch. As @Flyingbrick says, it's not for the faint of heart, but it can be done.

Sense would probably help more, I imagine. Use one Silencer to block the i6, the other to kill it.
it would seem that the gold standard for FO combos would be fanatic + optics
surprised to see so little of that suggested, especially on ships that NEED that focus token
I figured optics would be stapled to silencers at the very least. My question is would it help to have fanatic also or would the 2 not work well together on the same ship?
they seem absolutely made for one another
focus mods from fanatic + blank-fixers from optics
provided you can not get focus fired (and the silencer being super mobile, it's got the best chance of not getting swiss cheesed), you can have more than one scary, fanatical bugger darting around
Avoiding being focused fired on with these things is part of the fun and challenge i think. Also thanks
I've had a little luck with Kylo/Sense/Optics, Recoil/Predator, and SJE/Optics. I tried adding a 4th ship, but really those Silencers LOVE optics (its a must on Kylo). With the aforementioned Triple list your blocking game really has to be on point, and I didn't play it vs anything with more than 4 ships. They're SO maneuverable!
I did try a few times with two of the SJE's, Recoil/Crackshot, and Backdraft. 1/1/4/4 works pretty good, but all those unmodded dice generally aren't good.

You could go platinum and use force optics. It makes decisions, especially with Super Kylo, a lot easier.
I'm hoping 2 test pilots and vonreg fit into a list, or a diff baron tie of init 5 thats decent.

Depending on his price point and upgrade options, I'm definately planning on putting him and a SNR Kylo on the table to see if that has any legs.
maybe throw some Null in there if you've got some spare points
