Asymmetric

By Zedhth007, in Star Wars: Legion

I am building rebel and imperial armies. I plan to buy everything as I go. What I would like help with, is to try and keep a balance as I buy, I would love to have a list of what faction items are the match or counter to the other factions choice. This way as I buy, I can purchase two items at a time. And keep the options level. Something as simple as:

Renal Specialists- Imperial Specialists

so on and so on.

Thanks so much for the help!

In order of release (roughly);

Rebel Troopers-Stormtroopers

Speeder Bikes-AT-RT

AT-ST-Snowspeeder

Snowtroopers-Fleet Troopers

General Veers-Leia Organa

Boba Fett-Han Solo

Scout Troopers-Rebel Commandos

Emperor Palpatine-Chewbacca

Royal Guards- Wookiee Warriors

Death Troopers-Pathfinders

Krennic-Jyn Erso

E-web Heavy Blaster-1.4 FD Laser Cannon

Specialists

Bossk-Sabine Wren

Grav Tank-Land Speeder

Shoretroopers-Rebel Veterans

Dewbacks (unreleased)-Tauntauns

Stormtrooper/Rebel Trooper upgrade packs (both unreleased)

Darth Vader and Luke Operatives (both unreleased)

The symmetry isn't perfect (Commanders and operatives in particular have diverged a bit), but things will be in roughly the same slot and have keywords form roughly the same release period.

I think Bossk and Chewbacca would be paired design wise. And Boba Fett and Sabine.

The rebels don't really have a palpatine analogue

I was just going by the approximately symmetrical release schedule.

Why do people keep calling it a grav tank? It's a tracked vehicle, and this isn't 40k anyway.

Because people misspell/misremember its supposed to be "GAVw" or even the "GAVr" for the hover version. Personally, just calling it the Occupier seems the best solution to the overly long and complicated name problem.

Autocorrect

Autocorrect while posting on phones is the most likely culprit for "grav."

Interestingly though, the Occupier tank was originally supposed to be a hover vehicle, and the previewed Lego Kit was named "Imperial Assault Hovertank," along with some other toys that were released for the film. The Rebels cartoon used the "TX-225 GAVr "Occupier" combat assault tank" canon, which is the hover variant of the vehicle.

Autocorrect most likely, though I just call it “the tank” or GOCAT (gavw occupier combat assault tank, the full name of the expansion :) )

I have been tempted to buy a second gav tank for this very reason just so I can build it without the treads and make it like the hover variant.
