Critical wounds on monsters?

By Agent_Schmecker, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hi there,

after our first play session (and a lot of hard work during the character creation) we started playing the example campaign of the Tome of Adventures. During the first fight, we did do critical hits on some of our enemies. Unfortunately we did not know, how to resolve them. Is there any clue in one of the books? It could be that we just overlooked the rule because all in all we were quite confused during our first session ;)

Thanks for any help in advance!

You do know how critical wounds are resolved on player characters? It works the same way on non-minion monsters. Pull a crit card, apply effect.

Personally, since so many of the crits are meaningless to monsters (+black on social tests), I just apply them as severity amount of extra wounds so they're not a complete waste (i.e. same as you do for minions).

This idea sounds (and actually plays) very well. Just had a session and we now use the "all crits on monsters handled as if they were minions" house rule.

Thanks for the fast and precise answer!
