If i use De Vermis Mysteriis to play Shortcut 2, is it discarded or attached to a location?

Shortcut 2 would be attached normally. When it leaves play (for any reason), it is removed from the game.

Do you have a rules reference for this? I know someone on arkham DB wrote that's probably the way it's intended with attachment events, but that's not a rules reference (Rules as written VS Rules as intended).

The FAQ section on arkhamdb only contains information which has come from the rules team at FFG, so unless it is superseded in the future (e.g. by the downloadable FAQ on the FFG site, which does sometimes happen) it should be considered as an official ruling.

yeah, just to emphasise: I only add rules to the arkhamdb FAQ if they are forwarded to me as rulings from Matt Newman, the lead developer of the game. I added that ruling cos I had it as an email from him. It's legit! I should add it's not about 'probably the way it's intended' - I don't add anything that's not in the email itself!
