Ok, I'm ready to start this game with four players, but five would be better... if you want to play please sign up ASAP.
All players, please choose a faction and design a 300 point fleet. Please PM me your fleet and a desired starting location.
You can post here your faction and side name.
Faction: Rebel
Name: Matriarch's Expeditionary Talon
Faction: Rebel
Name: Guardians of GNIPia
Faction: Imperial
Name: 23rd Task Force
Faction: Imperial
Name: Pylons
Are the Errie Station and Blighted Drift special in some way?
Yes - special
I'm going to be out of town this weekend, BTW. Hopefully I can get my first set of orders in by Friday morning before I leave.
Waiting on fleet from @GhostofNobodyInParticular

Oops, sorry. I'll do that now.
Question:
2 hours ago, LTD said:Ground Forces are transported alongside fleets - for every full 50 points of space units in location TWO ground forces may be transported.
For Example: A fleet of 432 points can carry up to 8 ground forces. A fleet of 801 points can carry 16 Ground Forces.
Shouldn't the numbers in bold be doubled? 432 is 8 full 50s, so shouldn't that be 16 GF?
Indeed. You are correct.
Starting sheets have been sent to all players.
A reminder on some courtesies:
1. Please keep all comms with the GM in the same PM thread.
2. For each new page of PM thread please copy your sheet link into the first post
3. Please keep your orders simple and clear. Put your orders in the area provided on the sheet, and then update your "locations after jump" section.
4. I don't care how you manage your spreadsheet, I just need to know as clearly as possible what units are where at any given moment
5. Please don't cheat - I won't be watching and auditing every action - mistakes will be forgiven, cheating will result in severe penalty.
6. Please keep the IC thread IC, and the OOC thread OOC.
7. ABSOLUTELY NO FUN IS TO BE HAD AT ANY TIME.
8. Pinch your wife on the bum from me. Tell her it's an Australian thing.
Game starts... NOW! Orders are due in 48 hours (or less!)

The Merchants of Scubbera are eager to purchase minerals of rare value.
We offer 10 credits for each resource of Ardanium. Berubian, Cortheum, Dedlanite, and Exonium.
For planets with TWO of any of these resources we will give 40 credits.
For planets with THREE of any these resources we will give 90 credits.
We will make it totally worth your while...
Are they offering 40/90 credits for the planet itself, or just the resources?
And can we carry resources on our ships?
They just want to buy the resources.
Resources can be transported in the same manner as ground forces.
Just to clarify - the price for two or three means two or three of the same kind in the same place.
Since you're still awake, one more question.

Please take a look. Each player will do these differently, and some of the old hands have already started modifying their sheets to suit their own way of working. This is fine - what is important is that I can check quickly and easily what has been made in each system, what ships in each system after Jumps, and where they came from.
In the example sheet above, I have written next to each ship where it is jumping, then created a copy of the same turn report below, showing where the ships have ended up.
For the next turn, I would simply copy the lower bits over the top bits, update the turn number, and go again.
Some players keep a copy of all their turns going back to the start of the game - this is fine, but please keep the most current bits at top so I don't have to go scrolling. I won't be keeping a super watchful eye on the sheets - I trust players to do the right thing - but if I catch you cheating watch out!
Each turn I would like a PM from each player listing the "upshot" of their orders. For example: I moved CR 1, CR 2, and 5 GF to X.
I would also like a one line summary of all the planets you JUMPED TO. Like this: Turn 1 jumps to A, Z, P, dsW (ds stands for DEEP SPACE, a non planet location in system W).
Any questions?
Good.
Off we go!
Is this still a good example of how to submit orders?
EDIT: Never mind. I think I have it figured out, but an example spreadsheet could be helpful for RedDog.
If we trade resources for credits with someone, or resources for resources, at what "phase" does this take place? Will the credits be available the following turn?

I shamelessly object to you naming your faction "pylons". This name is reserved for the Pylon-Hoser Consortium!

I'll change it to Trylons. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trylon_and_Perisphere

Yes, the example you quoted is a good example of how to do orders.
On the trade things, in this game Credits can be transferred between players freely as required (electronic transfer) - a declaration must be made to that effect in the IC thread.
Resources (the trade goods A to E) are physical objects and must be carried between the worlds on actual ships, taking up a spot like a Ground Force. In order to get the bonus of having multiple resources in the same place to "corner the market" you will need to carry the resources around.
If you are trading Resources to the Merchants then they will take the resources in phase one, and provide credits that same turn (actually, the Merchants will provide a side with units to the value of the credits earned since planets cannot build more than their credit value in units and credits cannot be stored turn to turn).
@FortyInRed has joined the game. Welcome!
He takes over the worlds of the King of Pnarg. His reign was brief, uneventful, yet memorable.
In the event another player wants to join there is one remaining NPC power that can be overtaken.
I have orders from Jabba and GNIPs.
Waiting on orders from @FortyInRed @RedDogReb @Bertie Wooster
Faction: Rebel
Name: Democratic People's Republic of Pnarg (DPRP) - definitely not an authoritarian dictatorship
Sorry, work dropped a ton of stuff on me. Just completed orders.
