I feel like they tried so hard to keep things, "essential Star Wars" (in the sequels trilogy), that they missed an opportunity to do something special (with more next-generation "future Star Wars" asthetic) .
The sequels were all fine, and I don't want this to spark a huge wave of sequel debate...a lot of us have very strong feelings about these movies and what they did or didn't accomplish.
The movies make me feel bad for the FFG team.
"Wait, our 2 new factions are going to have TIE fighters, A-, B-, Y-, and X-Wings, plus the Falcon, and we have to make then somehow different than the OT stuff??"
QuoteTL;DR: I really look forward to new live action Star Wars that takes risks and makes new things like this ship.
I really like this ship. Props to the teams of designers.
I do, too.
I think it does exactly what it was supposed to do--look Star Warsy and yet somehow more.
At least it would be more fun to have than yet another Y-Wing design.
Edited by Darth MeanieI imagine this ship as part of the New Republic fleet, reserved for High Ranking officer transit, personal escorts for Government officials (similar to how the N-1s were used as escorts for the Royal Naboo shuttles), and for exclusive flights stationed at key control points.

I don't really see this design as an effective assault fighter, but fulfilling more of a support or tactical role that utilizes its two crew members.

Occasionally, I could imagine a "special forces" variant in a black paint scheme equipped with stealth technology for long range missions.
________
As a long-shot... I could possibly see the "future star wars" theme pushed to the limit with this ship being sort of an "expensive delivery platform" for a very very advanced long range ordinance that uses a partially manual guidance from one or both of the crew members. Basically like a B2 nuclear bomber in star wars.

Edited by BucknifeThe EC Henry "fixed" design. (I'll just refer to it as the "redesign"...)
And here is my comment on the matter:
I actually think the standard Pegasus design is a brilliant New Republic era step forward. ECs redesign, in my book, could be an earlier INCOM "beta" or 1.0 to the NR fleet's refined Pegasus.
Props on your redesign, however. Very pretty and definitely feels more "rebellion-eske" Incom
