I am thinking of buying this game and i was just wondering about a few things.

1. Can you customize your forces or do the scenarios tell you exactly what units to bring in?

2. and if you can customize your forces can you bring in units from lets say the Normandy expansion into the scenarios from the base game.

I am very interested in this game and i really like all the different units that the expansions bring to the game but if you can only use those units in the expansion they come with i might not buy up the game and it's expansions as fast as i normally would haha

Each scenario tells you what the opposing forces comprise. But some of the scenarios are quite unbalanced, and there is nothing to stop you tinkering with them to balance the scenarios.

The best thing about this game though, is that you can design your own scenarios. I spend hours trawling the internet and reading books looking for inspiration for my own scenarios.

more specifically - the scenarios specify the nuber of units and figures available, but the actual figures are placed into the bases in groups of 2/3 or 4 and the mix of machine gunners, soldiers, officiers, etc is up to you. The figure mix makes a difference to the abilities of the unit as a whole.

This customisation is one of the better parts of a good game, but the downside is a long set-up time, particularly if you don't take the time to either pre-sort the components or better yet create a subset for the scenario you intend to fight.
