I see lots of Boba/Fenn builds, lots of Fenn/Guri, but no Boba/Guri. Why?

Is there something that these two lack? Is it just the PS 6 on Fenn?

It’s such a fine balance between building them and preserving a bid that it’s very difficult to pull off. I think they will work just fine up until you get a bad matchup.

Yeah I'm also wondering what's up, I love Boba/Guri, flew it a lot at release, and not a fan of Fenn

Another issue could be that Boba and Guri really want their fat builds

I built a skinny Boba that seemed fine (IGD/Slave/HU) with typical fat Guri, but maybe the ceiling on Fenn is just too high

Simple reason, IMO: init 6

Boba is 5, Guri is 5, Fenn is 6. It gives flexibility for fenn to arcdodge the other init 6 ships such as Sun Fac

The cost increase after the first points change on Boba and I6 aces are the reasons. If Boba and his old tools were cheaper, Boba/Guri would be a viable build.

If Scum had more than one I6 pilot, it would be nice.

Nah, they aren't good.

Han is a 2 dice gun that'll rarely get the obstruction bonus, and if he does get it it'd be unmodded (Having to boost to get it)

Dengar can't get the mods for his attacks to be worth it.

Han is pretty good, but he's support ship, not a main gun. Never ever build a fat Scum Falcon. He doesn't belong in a two ship list.

Boba/Guri can't get all the toys it might want. Fenn's cheaper and doesn't need many upgrades, and that lets Boba or Guri really load up.

Also, Init 6 is probably a big part of it, too.

IMO, it's because we are seeing Maul on Boba now. That makes Boba 96 points with nothing else (and you almost certainly want Slave I and hull upgrade and a bomb of some kind). Boba with Maul is going to run anywhere from 103 to 115. Guri usually runs in the 80s. That doesn't leave enough of a bid to be competitive (and both Guri and Boba want to move after other I5s). So, something has to give and most people prefer to go for the cheaper I6 ace in Fenn.

I was being cheeky. Fenn is really the only viable Scum I6. Two die turrets just don't hurt.

You need the i6 heavy hitter to take care of the ships Boba may have a hard time with. Boba and Guri can clean up i5 and lower. Trading Fenn for like Quickdraw, and leaving Kylo and Tavson to Boba is no problem since you most likely have a 15+pt bid and moving after kylo. Or trading Fenn for Anakin delta 7b and leave CLT Obi and Ric for Boba, etc. Get those problem ships out of there. Fenn can rush in and toss a lot of dice.

Hmm, trying to find a place for Han is tough. The following list lacks a bid, but has a third ship and I think the trio could be viable, with Han covering Fenn and 4-LOM throwing a spanner in the works, opponents would especially need to be careful of linking red actions.

Its fat, but Dengar with Han gunner, torps, and Punishing One is pretty good. Add R5-P8 for mods on the double-tap.

Or Dengar with Han, torps, and L3 if you want a slimmer, more defensive build

Boba+Guri is still very doable, in my book.

But you know what's better?

Boba+Han.

In every game I've seen or faced him, he's rolling at least 3 dice, and in almost every game, about one 5 dice murder attack.

BT1 a free crit almost every single shot without a bullseye restriction for less than 5 points on the Gunner slot.

It's ridiculous.

Lattz Razi crew for literally free evades almost every defense....

and you don't care about pulling their stress because, guess what; YOU ALREADY SHOT AT I6 WITH YOUR EXTRA DICE.

Han is a beast.

I have had some fun but find Denagr cna be easily outflown and Fenn isnt strong enough on his own to carr yhe list.

I've found that Han is too easy to manage. Keeping away from rocks and keeping unstressed largely negates his offense. He often has to boost to ensure an obstructed shot which lessens his offense by removing dice mods.

Took this for a spin today and beat a Kestel/Vader/Echo imperial list.

Fenn and 4-LOM are very good distractions (dangerous brawlers) that allowed Han to get several nice 4-5 dice attacks in, while hanging back.

I think this explains your issues with Scum Han. Why the heck are you stressing yourself when you know you are going to be in arc? BT1 is cheap because not triggering him (or the Lando's Millennium Falcon title for that matter) is dead simple...

Pretty sure I saw a Sloane list in the cut. Was a strange variation, iirc, not many ships and named pilots rather than generics. Might have my wires crossed though.

She is kinda manageable and can't sit in things that are difficult to explode anymore. But clearly still decent and workable, just not necessarily that easy to get maximum return from, against a wide meta. 9pt is a commitment.
