(Order 66 Podcast) Questions for the Devs - Allies and Adversaries
When designing the canon characters' stat blocks, what was the main priority? I assume (looking at them) you tried to replicate them as seen on screen.
Did you have to compromise on some characters in for being too good? Were there any abilities you couldn't or didn't include because of balance issues? What were they?
Why was my boy Nien Nunb not given his own page and when can we expect a Nunb-focused era sourcebook to be released to make up for this egregious error?
or to put it more broadly
What sort of factors go into deciding which canon characters to give stats to and which to skip over? For example, we have some of the Rogue One crew but not all of them.
Edited by KualanAlso, an errata question - in my copy of A&A the Jawa player profile doesn't have Silhouette 0. Is this an oversight?
Any interesting custom abilities that you couldn't fit in for whatever reason?
Any standout flavorful abilities for an NPC you particularly like?
Aphra's ability "Watch Out for the Traps!": Am I correct in reading this as Aphra intentionally triggering traps to deal with enemies? And that not just Aphra but everyone in short range has to make that Vigilance check?
One more day to get your questions in!
We'll take questions about Allies and Adversaries up until midnight (EST) tomorrow night!
First, this book is fantastic, from the art to the ideas on how to make use of the characters.
Some of the entries are reprints of previous adversary entries but will leave out the options within a type - for instance the generic bounty hunter has the Rival entry from the Edge Adversary's section but the master Nemesis bounty hunter is not included. What was the thinking/design behind these sorts of decisions?
Thanks
Do you have any GM advice for making use of the most powerful entries in this book against a group of PC's with XP in the high teens (1500-1800)?
My current group is around 1400 XP and they can bring Saber Swarm (linked 3+) and Move and other really powerful abilities to bear against opponents and the typical WT in the 20's and Adversary ~4 and 2 actions per round isn't much of an obstacle at this point.
I'm looking to close out the current campaign with some really memorable and challenging encounters.
Thanks!
