I like Legion

By jocke01, in Star Wars: Legion

I just wanna say something positive for once :p.

Legion is a very good game, the system is fresh and fast without to manky kinks (not perfect, but what is).

With the rules and unit errata's the game is better that even I think, with tons of lists working. With clone wars just on the brink, I think the game will get a nice second wind and boost in numbers. I tip my hat of to the designers and looking forward to years and years of Legion.

❤️

Me too.

As someone starting their physical collection with clone wars, I am excited to start deploying my forces!

For all my complaints about Asmodee and Fantasy Flight Games, they make really good games.

Star Wars Legion is Very Good

I honestly feel almost the same way about it that I did about the toys as a kid!

Of the four SW miniatures games that have been published to date*, Legion has the best line of Hoth miniatures.

*Stuff like Attacktix doesn't count.

Best minis period, in my opinion. The level of detail is so good!

I really love the alternating activation and dynamic command cards of the game.

There are four? I'm only aware of Legion and WotC

I'm guessing Armada and X-wing are also included

Legion is an excellent game and some of my favorite minis to paint.

1) West End Games SWMB from '88 to '98.

2) WOTC

3) Imperial Assault

4) Legion

People could discount IA on similar grounds to why I dismiss X-Wing and Armada. But I don't. I also don't count that line of metal minis by WOTC that was only meant as RPG aids, and far too small of a line to amount to much.

But the best miniatures aren't always included in the best miniatures line .

Mine come tomorrow, but im still pissed knowing that some people gotten them for 2+ weeks.

anyways, to say something productive, i think im going to like it. I like Tabletop in general, playing Warhammer Fantasy and 40K, and i love me some Star Wars and Battledroids.

I like how easy the rules were to pick up for someone like me that never played a large skirmish game before and FFG's learning scenarios in their instructions have a good way of introducing the core concepts before expanding into the more nuanced rules.

I love that we've got a positivity thread going. I know personally I am guilty of being way too negative sometimes. I love this game more than I'm usually willing to admit. I've always loved Star Wars, and I've always loved tabletop wargames. I was destined to fall in love with this game. It feels complex enough to allow for a decent amount of strategic play without feeling too hard to learn.

I remember one of my first legion game. We didn't have much terrain to work with, and only a couple painted squads to play with, mostly gray plastic though. It turned into a slug-fest fast and looking back on it, it was one of the most boring legion matches I've played yet STILL was more fun than I'd had on a tabletop in over a year or two. That's when we (my wallet and I) knew we were in trouble.

My two Clone Wars cores come tomorrow. I am thrilled to add these next two factions to my collection! Time to give my stormtroopers some target practice with B1's this weekend.

Tabletop wargamer since the 90s, mostly GW. Still no ill will toward GW but found it to be more of a meat grinder type game. I switched to legion when it first came out and loved it. I'm excited to see our FB groups lighting up with new blood, the new content ffg releases and love that even though the mouse does things for money, they look to be making SW content for years to come.

If you're referring to their aesthetic I have to say I agree.

Never cared for any of their IPs and they create unfortunate associations with the worst subsets of gamer culture to me.

FFG is awesome.

I absolutely love it. I collected LOTR back in 2001 but never got the hang of the rules nor had anyone to play with. Got back into it with The Hobbit in 2012 and had a brother just old enough to play along but never that much.

We got into X-Wing for a while and loved that so moved over to legion. Now we get a game in usually every 2 weeks. Its the first game I think where the gaming aspect is of equal importance to me as the hobby aspect. And the only one I play often enough to know stats and rules by heart. (Sorry to say x wing stuff has been in storage for months though)

Looking forward to join you guys! :)
