So, for an EoE game, how would you build an investigator journalist? All books and lines are open. I had originally considered colonist_performer but that doesn't seem right.
Investigative Journalist
Bounty Hunter - Skip Tracer, with Colonist - Politico.
Bought Info, Nobody's Fool, and Recreate the Scene are key. Kill With Kindness, Plausible Deniability, Improved Street Smarts and Natural Charmer are gravy.
I'd go the other way. Colonist/Politico, dipping into Skip Tracer gets you a lot more journo/investigator career skills than starting as a Bounty Hunter.
That works too, and it's certainly more "civilian" oriented. I was just reading the "investigations" part of the bounty hunter book, so it was top of mind.
Part of me feels like there might be room for propagandist in there. But that would make more sense if you were focusing more on the journalist side and less on the the investigation.
also, for investigation, thief could merit some consideration.
There's a lot of useful talents for an investigative reporter in Double Agent and Interrogator from Cyphers & Masks too.
Have to admit, this is where the system breaks down, and I'd just switch over to Genesys.
The investigator spec from endless vigil has like 1 or 2 force talents the rest arr very applicable. Might make a good secondary spec

That's an odd conclusion after some interesting options were suggested. Care to elaborate, or is it just that you find the spec trees too confining to customize characters?
Not to speak for Whafrog, but I see it as a character concept using talents that are onsie-twosies and scattered around multiple trees. So you end up having to spend a huge amount of XP to get those talents and put together a character simply because your specific concept hasn't been pre-built as a full fledged tree by the developers. Genesys' more free form talent pyramid allows that level of customization with it's own checks and balances.

What @Ahrimon said. It's nice to have a template with suggestions, but that's about as useful as it gets.
