FFG will be folding the Resistance Faction back into the Rebel Faction after Episode IX.

I mean, they were already the rebellion in everything but name

But they dropped even that pretense in tlj 😛

The only real difference would be the color of their emblem as far as i could see.

As a Resistance XWM player, it's odd that I'll really just be playing Mk II versions of X, A, YT-1300, and now likely Y, B, Ghost, and Corellian corvettes.

Hilariously, of only ship to not make the cut is the E-wing, AN ACTUAL NEW REPUBLIC STARFIGHTER.

Yeah but The Resistance never had anything like that. Technically all of their stuff up until RoS was hand-me-down. People forget that a LOT.

Nah, they’ll just ship us a card pack of all the rebel chassis with resistance pilots and dials. They’ll keep them separate and the pilots limited so as to not have generic VCX spam or similar.

As a player who never played Rebels in 1.0, it will be nice to play Resistance as a new faction that I really don't need to convert a lot of toys to be 2.0.

As a Star Wars fan, it's kind of a bummer this game is going to have Rebels (Red) and Rebels (Orange).

The Resistance will be renamed the New Republic. A conversion kit will be produced for the resistance ships

Honestly, at this point I wish FFG would just make 2 new "alternate universe" factions for New Republic and Imperial Remnant.

There's a gold mine of non-recycled ships to be had, and I could feel like I'm actually playing some sort of "next generation" Star Wars.

Maybe, if the game lasts long enough, when the current 7 factions reach saturation??. . .

Trouble is that alternate universe is a no-no to the Mouse. They’re really only allowing the stuff that already left the barn but they’ve slammed that door shut for good.

I don'T think that this will happen, since they mostly based ship releases with the newest movies.

I was being ironic with the conversion kit. I think we'll wait and see what will happen in The Rise of Skywalker. I don't hink that FFG are in the secrets of JJ Abrams, so they can't prepare themselves in advance.

No, they have mined the EU for content and brought it into the new canon before, Thrawn and the Chimera's existence is proof of that.

Right, but you’re not going to have content that directly contradicts what they establish coming up. Which is what I was getting at with my comment. They’re not going to let sequel content that contradicts their timeline in as “alternate universe” factions
