New Picture of Massive Fleet - Rise of Skywalker

By Forresto, in Star Wars: Armada

Looks like the Ghost is there too.

FFG: "We're actually running out of canon ships to include in the game."

Disney: "Here, hold my beer..."

Well there is the Ghost, a VCX, hamerhead, Uwing, Nebulon of some sort, Mon cala ships, the big rectangular ship in the center could be the ship Han had in ep 7.

When the camera pans down it almost looks like a mark II Assault frigate in the lower left

————————————

and it appears I’m not to notice it. Doh!

Edited by GrandAdmiralCrunch

Bottom left right before the cut looks like Assault Frigate MK 2, and all the way in the background, upper right looks like some MC80s

Looks like the Shadowcaster is in there also, just to the left of the Ghost.

Honestly all I want is for chimaera to be added in. Plenty of ISDs shown

and armada better get lots of new toys

This could be fun

Things that aren't here:

  • Starhawks
  • Any Mon Cal ship newer than the MC75 (although apparently several of these show up...um, for some reason)

More than anything, I'm bummed about the lack of Starhawks. Unless something changed between when FFG was given the go-ahead on the design and this scene was shot, and those ships everyone is picking out as the AF Mk2 *is* the new take on them? (Yes, obviously, most of the fleet was destroyed at Hosnian Prime. Still Leia was hoping for Starhawks to get the message in TLJ, indicating even then she knew some must still be about. And it's a ship that's been around for 30 years at that point - there SHOULD be quite a LOT of them...)

Why does the falcon have a round dish on it again?

To shove the nostalgia factor down on your throat even more.

This article has a list of many of the potential starships in this image: https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-first-big-cameo-of-star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-1839232886

"But that’s not all. Also spotted in this epic shot are Nebulons, Brah’atoks, U-Wings, Lucrehulks, MC75s, Nebulon Bs, Sphyrna-Classes (aka the Hammerhead Cruiser from Knights of the Old Republic), what looks like a Baleen-class heavy freighter (the ship Han Solo and Chewie have in The Force Awakens), a Defender Class Corvette, maybe even a YT-2400 light freighter, Lancer-class pursuit craft, a MG-100 StarFortress SF-17, a Vakbeor-class cargo frigate, a Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster, and many, many more. All of which are real things on Wookieepedia if you want to check."

Pretty cool.

If I'm not totally mistaken, the ship at the top edge behind the Falcon is a Pelta

There are several Peltas in the shot. If you look at the first frame of the scene to the right of the Nebulon on the very right you can see at least 3 more Peltas

Didn't see those, thanks 😃

...Lucrehulks...

Yeah, saw that one at the bottom.

Of course, that means that the Rebellion definitely has them, as it is a Clone Wars-era design. If they are still in combat service with the Resistance 50 years later, one would assume the Rebels flew them at some point. (Indeed, canonically they did at least one, with Lucrehulk Prime that Hera Syndulla led a flight school at).

All I can say is I can not wait to see this movie and the epic space battle that we are going to be getting.

Fine by me.

Luke throwing his saber away like that in Return of the Jedi was when he became a Jedi Knight.

There is definitely a Seperatist dreadnaught in that formation.

Where? I can't see anything that I can confidently call a seperatist ship.

Is it just me or are there at least 2 DP20 Frigates. One with red trim above the Neb B on the right, one with green trim just to the left of the Pelta behind the Falcon.

Anybody see any squadron reprints in there?
