Sigh, a trailer for a trailer.

Thrice cursed Rebellion, how you have grown since the tragedy of Endor.
Sooooon!
Looks like it’s going to be a huge hit. The presale has already sold 45 percent more than endgame according to CNBC.
All those ships!! 😍
I am so unbelievably excited!
Armada gonna have SO much more in terms of ships and ships and also ships!

Yeah, I didn't really see anything in this trailer that conflicts with the last leak that had come out. Which...doesn't bode well. Hopefully the last edit pass cleans some of this up...
(And I still remain convinced the Onager was supposed to be what appeared as the fleet of ships in the movie instead of those Star Destroyers - but JJ wanted something more familiar, ergo the blatant rip-off of the Rogue One CGI model despite it making no sense for an Imperial-I...even modified...to still be in use 30 years after Endor.)

OMGLOL charging the enemy on the back yetiponies, Palpatine returns.... I'm crying.
Don't get me wrong, this all LOOK awesome but I'm more skeptical than ever about the value of the story.
So in the last shot we see a clos up of Rey and we hear two voices say: "the force will be with you", "always". They sound like a male and a female voice. Do you think this might be her parents? Will we get some hints towards her heritage?

Sounded like Luke and then Leia to me.
This article has a list of many of the potential starships in on screen behind the Falcon: https://io9.gizmodo.com/the-first-big-cameo-of-star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-1839232886
"But that’s not all. Also spotted in this epic shot are Nebulons, Brah’atoks, U-Wings, Lucrehulks, MC75s, Nebulon Bs, Sphyrna-Classes (aka the Hammerhead Cruiser from Knights of the Old Republic), what looks like a Baleen-class heavy freighter (the ship Han Solo and Chewie have in The Force Awakens), a Defender Class Corvette, maybe even a YT-2400 light freighter, Lancer-class pursuit craft, a MG-100 StarFortress SF-17, a Vakbeor-class cargo frigate, a Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster, and many, many more. All of which are real things on Wookieepedia if you want to check."
Pretty cool.

Yeah, pretty clearly Luke and Leia.

Except it does make complete sense. To be fair my initial reaction was similar to yours, and I agree the practicality of reusing an already made CG model is definitely a factor in the decision making, but it also fits narratively speaking.
I’m quite confident that this Sith fleet is a big part of Palpatine’s contingency which means he probably planned for it early in his reign and it would’ve taken him a significant amount of time to amass and hide away a fleet this large and under the utmost secrecy in the Unknown Regions. Hence its reasonable to assume that he would use ISD Is just because it was in service a lot earlier in the Empire’s reign, whereas the ISD II was only in service for a maximum of 4-5 years before the end of the Galactic Civil War.
Uncompressed 1080p pictures of the Resistance fleet.

There is definitely a Seperatist dreadnaught in that formation.
Possibly a lucrehulk and a couple of acclamators.
I watched every Star Wars Movie on opening night and several times after that.
Yes the Prequels were not great but the overall story was and dark horse did some
great things with it.
To credit the new stuff, personally I think Rogue One was perhaps the best
Star Wars movie overall and I like Rey as a lead character.
But this trailer ended it for me.
The Last Jedi was so bad I felt insulted as a fan and as a viewer in general, and this trailer
looks like they have learned nothing.
Horses in a star wars trailer...
I don't even know what to say.
Sorry for venting here.
Hoping we at least get new ships for Armada ![]()
