Final Rise of Skywalker Trailer‼️

By Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun, in X-Wing

I think the thing middle left (or slightly bottom left depending on which screen-cap you're looking at) is actually a Free Virgillia-class Bunkerbuster. It looks slightly wrong but seems the closest match of anything I've seen, and it's already sequel-era.

Star Wars IS rule of cool, much of the time.

We could wait until the movie to see if they stuck the landing. The trailer seems very much intentionally vague to obscure many important plot points.

That’s a bit unfair. Not disagreeing with the rule of cool, mind you, just find the insults might be a bit thick.

I think JJ is a bad director. His films are always trying to take shortcuts via nostalgia to emotions the films haven't earned.

Yup, checks out. :D

Y-Wing Poe confirmed. He’s such a pilot he didn’t even need a veteran turret gunner for the bonus shot.

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s bad. You disagreeing with his vision is fine, but he’s clearly not a “bad” director.

Whenever you see something and you can’t understand why anyone would like / watch / enjoy it, you should at least consider that you may not be the target audience.

Do you understand that I am making a distinction between whether or not a film is "good" and whether or not anyone enjoyed watching it?

Can we please just wait until the movie is out before we get back into all of this? Everyone has made their predictions and you can all tell us you told us so after opening night. Can we get our message boards back for at least a couple of months?

I think his criticisms of JJ's previous works are fair to bring up in conversation about the upcoming movie, even if I don't agree with them personally.

As well, I don't have to see a Uwe Boll movie before I can tell you its going to be garbage.

The Falcon’s Last Ride

Lando will survive. If you look to the right of his head there is an emergency window latch.

The trailer is gorgeous and cool, they can make a great trailer... However, I just have no faith that this movie is going to be anything but a incoherent mess. I'll watch it like a bad accident, but more out of a morbid curiosity, not out of any kind of excitement.

I also don't understand how a Resistance that was down to a single 50+ year old freighter, a few fighters, and transport shuttles is suddenly a match again (where the **** did all those ships come from?!) for the First Order, despite their bumbling and incompetent leadership (The FO has never felt menacing in the same way the Empire did. Sure, they've the kit but it never felt plausible that such a pack of idiots could rise to such power).

Especially when we see them in that base saying "NO one's responding to our emergency message"...

Where did they all come from?

Said message was from a remnant of the Resistance pinned down by a sizeable FO fleet of battlecruisers and a dreadnaught/fleet tender... Not replying immediately/at all and beginning preparations quitely instead while hoping some of those calling for help survive and get out makes sense strategically (especially if the recipient is a certain venerable gambler with even a modicum of awareness of what the FO is). It sucks for those calling for backup/bailout, but it doesn't tip off the First Order that they have a sizeable threat getting ready to hit them.

But...

Where are the super slow super bombers from TLJ? It's not Star Wars without them. B-wings, Y-wings? Who thought that Junk was cool?

No Luke or Anakin. No Skywalker Saga.

This is the worst, lmao.

The MG-100 is present. I get what you're trying to go for but you'd have to try harder than that to do worse than you did.

Luke will 100% make an appearance, as a force ghost at the very least.

I also expect Anakin to make an appearance. If not as an force ghost than perhaps in the flesh. There is an outside but non-zero chance of wibbly wobbly timey whimey stuff happening with the Emperor (see Rebels story line where Palpatine was messing around with time travel) and the Father wanted Anakin to replace him back during the Clone Wars, and Qui-Gon's ghost explained that it was possible to travel through time back then as well.

The Rise of Skywalker may be just that, with the ST crew going back in time and perhaps dealing with Anakin Skywalker's redemption, which would explain all the older-tech ships showing up in the previously posted images (Imperial Star Destroyers, a Falcon that still had its round, etc. ). Perhaps he may end up as the balance in the Force that the Father wanted him to be.

In the end, its always been Anakin's story.

Saw that. Thanks for the still. I like that they removed the torp tubes (The humps are gone. The wings are too thin for them to be there and there isn't enough space between the cockpit and the engines for them) and are instead emphasizing the cannons in the design.

You guys don't really buy this Time Travel dreck do you? Okay, let me sort something straight here, alright?

There was no real Time Travel in Star Wars: Rebels. Anybody who watched it and got two iota to rub together can piece together that whatever had happened had already happened, and was going to, in that place between spaces. No, really. When Kanan died? Ezra had already made the decision not to save him. Because, if you were paying attention...

Things from different times, past present and future, could be heard going on. You know what this implies? I hope so.

In this space between worlds, time is nonlinear, but anything that WAS going to interact with it, already had or was going to in some fashion. You can change nothing in there, because what you will have done will have already BEEN done in that space. If you're still confused, the very fact that we can hear Kylo Ren speaking proves to us that every action that had led to Kylo Ren being at that exact point in time, had already happened as far as that space between worlds was concerned. Not only that, it was forever closed off to the likes of...

Well, everybody. Accessing it took some pretty specific criteria. We should note too, that while Palpatine had access to it, he could not enter it, because the gateways were not somewhere he could go. Those Jedi Temples were inaccessible to him. This is proven when the Inquisitors try to use the temple to corner Ezra, Ahsoka, and Kanan... But, visions of their old master attack and befuddle them. The Dark Side cannot win and has no influence in this place.

So, the gateway was always shut off. I mean, for goodness' sake, only Ezra was actually able to access it. Specifically, ONLY Ezra. Need further proof?

Ahsoka did not access it either. She was pulled in by Ezra, and set loose- put back in her time, just after the events of Vader's duel. You want to know something even crazier?

Vader most certainly informed Palpatine of this gate that she disappeared into. By the time Palpatine had figured it out, guess what! He runs into Ezra in that space between worlds!

Please tell me you're still following and have finally reached the proper conclusion and thus the correct answer, please!

TIME TRAVEL NEVER EXISTED IN STAR WARS. IT IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT TYPE OF INTERACTION THAT IS SIMULTANEOUSLY NOT AN INTERACTION.

Time Travel does not exist in Star Wars! Gah! Nobody even traveled through time in that space! Ahsoka only moved from a different place, to another different but similar place! Same for Ezra!

I canNOT believe that the star wars fandom, priding itself on digging deep into stuff, STILL CAN'T SEEM TO GRASP THIS.

HHHHH.
