It's no secret that FFG sleeves are a sight longer than the standard card sleeve. Will they still fit index-style in the insert included with this game?

Yes, actually the 2 columns of the box are wider than standard sleeves are tall so you get a slight bit extra room (i suspect I might be able to fit deck boxes in there) You also have some grooves to possibly create seperating inserts.

That said, sleeved the core game takes up one entire column leaving the 2nd for expansion. Tokens fit nicely in the provided end caps.

Ok, I got the game yesterday. They actually don't fit the way you would expect, as the two long slots are tapered at the bottom, squeezing the sleeves on that side if you push them in there.

What can work is putting them "sideways" (so the front/back of the cards face the side of the box, not the top and bottom) with two stacks next to each other in each slot. This requires some divider solutions not included in the box, however.

I noticed the same problem. Insert is too narrow on the bottom so it squeeze FFG sleeves there. It is big disappointment and another piece of garbage to The Earth. 😕

As noted above, it looks like they fit, but the tapered bottom will mangle the corners of the sleeves. I tossed it immediately in favor two very simple foamcore rows with some laminated dividers from BGG. The homemade solution is much more space efficient as you get two full rows with enough space left over to hold dials and tokens. I'd guess the first year or so of expansions will fit (possible big campaign expansion excluded) this way.

Kind of annoying but I'm just going to sleeve the cards that I'm using and leave the rest in storage.

After sleeving all my lotr encounter sets, I will not be doing that here, lol. My decks diffenetly. But given that it is tapered, i will store my encounter cards on the taper side, decks in thr remainder, and unused player cards in a binder

I put a piece of carton on the bottom of the storage and now the sleeves don't bend

That’s... really smart 😂 I’ll probably try that before trying to make my own insert entirely.
