Careful. I got a warning point for stating that in my other thread.

Or maybe ffg was gunning for me because i trolled a bunch of times. Either way it was my thread with the "let it die" gave me a warning and a 3 day suspension.

But I'm definitely excited to know that i was right. Sun fac isn't overpowered and people just needed to learn to adjust their builds rather than playing what worked for them in the past.

It's exactly how Germany rolled over France in WWII. France expected another WWI trench warfare and the Blitzkrieg put a quick halt to that.

At least that's what i was told in history class 20 years ago if i remember correctly... Am i wrong?

Anyways. The point is, evolve and adjust or fall behind and die

...yes and no, the TL:DR of the fall of France was that everything worked perfectly according to the French plan, but their bureaucracy made them sluggish to react while low level German field commanders were incentivized to actively not work with the rest of the army and make ridiculously reckless decisions, but the sluggish French decision making process didn't allow them to punish all of the mistakes the hPanzer divisions were making in their headlong (and sometimes outright insubordinate) advance.

That's like a paragraph for something you could do a whole thesis on, but it's close enough.

It's a little hasty to make a conclusion on Sun Fac either way. No Nantex made the cut at Worlds but it's very new, and most of the top players there have lots and lots of practice with their lists.

When a new ship arrives on the scene, especially with weird new tricks, there's a learning curve both with against it. Taking a new release to a tournament is a double-edged sword because that you won't have unlocked how to use it best, but your opponent is more likely fall for the tricks and make mistakes. At Worlds top-tables level, opponents are far less likely to make those mistakes, so the surprise factor isn't likely a good trade-off for lack of practice with the new ship.

I think another issue with taking Sun Fac to a tournament is that they seem a bit unreliable / matchup-dependent (which is one of the reasons I don't like Sun Fac's design). Sub Fac is super-scary for certain lists, but if you come up against a list that has mostly large or medium bases your tractor shenanigans don't work, and against a list that has loads of small bases like the Sear Swarm you can't tractor 'em all.
