I Will Make It Legal

By Darth Meanie, in X-Wing

Dak Ralltiir: "I feel like I could take on the whole Empire myself!”

Anakin Skywalker: “Hold my beer. . .”

That’s right. Little Ani can take on any **** faction he wants, all by himself. Empire, Seps, Scum, whatever. Yeah, it’s a little bendy in the rules, but that’s why he’s friends with Palpy. Featuring the all-Ani, all-the-time Republic list:

Lil’ Orphan Ani in his N-1 Naboo

Anakin, Hero of the Republic in a Y-Wing

“Don’t Go Breakin’ My Heart” Skywalker in a Jedi Aethersprite

And even more exciting, Anakin’s Banana Republic fighter corps features all ships in yellow livery!!

I'd like to report a successful outing with this list, but as an Imperial diehard, slow and clunky Y-Wings are not my forte. We got to here:

Then my Y-wing melted to concentrated fire. Lil Ani and Jedi Ani managed to deliver some beat down, and I was down to N1 Ani vs. 3 Bogies. Unfortunately, the N1's 8-track player caught on fire and the ship exploded the next turn.

So THIS is what the Clone Wars were really about then? Hmmmmm. 🧐 🤔

I feel like Anakin needs another ship or three to add to this masterpiece!

He'll be in at least one more when ever the Actis is released.

Disclaimer:I wasn’t a big Clone Wars fan, but wasn’t there a large base sized ship he flew as well?

Ani and Oddball say who is Sabine?

Ya. I forget the name. A fugly mash of parts that looks like someone chopped off the front of a Dreadnaught and strapped outriggers to it. Iirc Assajj was also working with him when he was using it.

G-9 Rigger, he named his “Twilight.”

I always thought that was the ancestral B-Wing, like a fugly child that grows into a beautiful starfighter.

+1. Four ships would be perfect.

Yep.

And it will really help this out. One of the problems with this list is that all the ships are very upgrade heavy to keep the theme of Ani-only. When I lost the Y-Wing, that was well more than a third of my list, points-wise. Or, I would have had the bid from ****.

Nothing wrong with going heavy on upgrades if you otherwise don't have the ships for a 200 point list.

Banana Republic fighter corps

This is an underrated line not getting enough attention.

I kinda want to come up with a decent, legal three ship Y-Wing, N-1 and Aethersprite list now just so that it can be called Banana Republic.

Maybe something with Anakin, Ric and Broadside?

Curious to know, where did you get those bases, or did you simply paint over them?

This is probably my favorite thread on the entirety of the FFG forums, being a fan of Anakin myself.

Image result for testors spray bronze

You can get about about 20 bases done with a single can, even if you toss in some medium or larges.

I spray them completely, then scrape the paint back off the peg with a hobby knife. It's actually less finicky than taping off the peg.

Your reputation proceeds you, @Darth Meanie .

Im curious how you made the custom quick build sheets with the graphics. Is there a site that generates them. I have a few permanent builds id like to have in this format to save time on setup in my casual games.

A couple of questions on this:

1) Is this a free tool that the author has created, or is it something that I would have to pay for?

2) I'm not sure what an ".xws" file is - I assume it's the format that comes out of the Squad Builder when you click on "Share", but I'm not sure.

3) I just submitted a list, but it was only to test the quickbuild sheet generator, and not a serious request. Can I make sure that this is considered?

4) What are the requirements for using the software (i.e OS, software like Adobe, etc.)?

I’m happy to answer any questions! I built and maintain the site.

1) It is free. Some people have chosen to donate via Patreon , but that is a choice and not an obligation. Please enjoy the site!

2) XWS can be exported from nearly any third party squad builder (YASB 2.0, Launch Bay Next...). It is a format for sharing X-wing squad builds that was pioneered during 1.0 by X-wing hobbyists and continues widespread use during 2.0. Unfortunately, the official app decided on a different format.

3) It’s free. Use it all you want. Try submitting XWS. Please realize that this site is for print-at-home personal use. I do not own any of the art and therefore cannot be a part of any professional printing of the images.

4) It’s a web based tool. It tends to have slightly better formatting consistency in Firefox or Chrome. Sometimes certain fonts get shifted from their intended layout in Safari.

Thanks @Darth Meanie for posting so many great pics that include the cards!

No Darth Vader in the list? :(

He also flew a hideously fugly sausagelike stealth ship.

2 more! Actis and the g9-rigger class light freighter, aka the Twilight.

that delightfully hideous Tugboat/Sailing-Fridge he inexplicably used as a combat shuttle is virtually guaranteed as a Republic ship eventually

I just tested it using the appropriate file format - looks great! Thanks for the help, @J1mBob

Love the idea, looks hilarious and fun :D

Also don't forget guys, Anakin is likely to be released as Crew as well at some point, or at least I'd assume so given that many Jedi doubled as generals ;)
