Hand Size Limit

By Malct, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Hi. New player here.
The default player card hand limit is 8 cards, which is checked during Upkeep.

My question is, does the 8 cards include played (e.g. Asset cards in play) PLUS un-played cards (cards waiting to be played in your hand), or is it just the number of un-played cards?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Malct,

Welcome. Hopefully we can all help here. The hand size is indeed 8 cards, and refers to the cards in your hand (ie, unplayed), so the latter. Assets in play are no longer in your hand (NB: you can have as many assets in play as you can manage, but note that certain assets take up 'slots', which are limited - you can find out more about those under 'slots' in the rules reference.)

Great stuff! Thanks for the clarification.

Note that some encounter cards and/or weaknesses from your deck can go into your hand and they do count against your hand size. The hand size is literally the number of cards in your hand.
