New Vennie list

By Watcher42, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I used to fly vennie a lot, and now I've got the resistance transport I'm finally returning to her:

Vennie (60)
Pattern Analyzer (5)
Perceptive Copilot (8)
Veteran Turret Gunner (8)
Rey (14)

Ship total: 95 Half Points: 48 Threshold: 6

Nodin Chavdri (36)
Advanced Optics (4)
Ion Cannon (5)
Korr Sella (6)
PZ-4CO (6)
M9-G8 (7)
Angled Deflectors (6)

Ship total: 70 Half Points: 35 Threshold: 4

Finn (29)
C-3PO (Resistance) (6)

Ship total: 35 Half Points: 18 Threshold: 2

Total: 200

The basic idea is for Nodin to lock vennie in round 1 then vennie to focus every round, then finn calculates and gets 2 calculate tokens, Nodin coordinates finn who then coordinates Nodin, finn gets a 3rd calculate token and Nodin has his choice of 3 actions, probably focus, calculate and reinforce he can then pass a focus of calculate to vennie or finn depending on who may need it the most.

My question is though is this possible, does a red coordinate give Nodin the stress before or after finn coordinates Nodin, from what I read its after Nodin peformes the action does this mean finn has to complete his coordinate before the stress is given?

I have been thinking about similar lists recently: one with Vennie and one with Rey in the Falcon. To answer your question: Yes, it does work as long as Nodin doesn't pick a red action as his non-ability coordinated action. In other words, one of the four total actions he does has to be white.

If I may make a couple suggestions, if you aren't going to take Paige for the free rotate, perhaps you should have a second turreted ship to proc Vennie's ability. Maybe Lu'lo instead of Finn? I think C-3PO makes more sense on Vennie than Perceptive Copilot, anyway; Vennie ends up with one additional token.

I find paige a bit pointless on vennie, Ray and Veteran turret gunner are just better but then again I was always using L'ulo, I hadn't thought of putting 3PO on vennie, normally I'd do perseptive but having 3 calculates probably makes more sense especially if PZ can then put a focus on vennie afterwards:

Vennie (60)
Pattern Analyzer (5)
C-3PO (Resistance) (6)
Rey (14)
Veteran Turret Gunner (8)

Ship total: 93 Half Points: 47 Threshold: 6

Nodin Chavdri (36)
Korr Sella (6)
PZ-4CO (6)
M9-G8 (7)
Angled Deflectors (6)

Ship total: 61 Half Points: 31 Threshold: 4

L'ulo L'ampar (43)
Heroic (1)
Predator (2)

Ship total: 46 Half Points: 23 Threshold: 2

Total: 200

Paige is really good. Rey is also really good. Paige virtually guarantees you a double tap, and that your arc will always be pointing where you want it to be after your turn finishes.

With Paige, you probably want M9G8 on one of your squadron to make Vennie more accurate, with Rey, you can turn the blanks with the force.
