He's back. Wonder what he flies this time?
The return of the... Wedge
JJ Abrams really _can't_ do anything new, can he?

Not really but now we get to see Wedge and Poe killing it together.
Hmmm I wonder if the orange T-70 with R2-D2 in it is actually Wedge??
Wedge Resistance crew: Same ability as his pilot card.
what would that cost?

Speaking of getting a Wedgie, many people hated it when TLJ when off-script.
This is the last of the old-school romps. New movies can bring new characters and plots lines.
Sure, it feels like the Clone Wars (as in, "Let's clone the entire Galactic Civil War!! "), but, to be honest, I'm OK with that.
Edited by Darth MeanieI can already see it...Wedge is a worn out old man. Poe walks up to him and presents Wedge's old x-wing helmet. With a scorn look of surprise and regret...Wedge takes the helmet from Poe's hand and throws it over his shoulder to a cliff behind himself.
As much as I hate the idea of Palpatine reviving, it may actually be worth it if we get to see Wedge and Lando again.

Ok, so we know the film will end up with the good guys' and the bad guys' fleets fighting around a second, more powerful Starkiller Base; while the ground forces, aided by cute toys, try to make the base vulnerable; and Rey faces the Emperor and Kylo, almost losing before Kylo sacrifices himself to help her by throwing the Emperor down another bottomless pit (he really needs to stop building those).
The only question is, who's going to need rescuing from a crime syndicate during the first part of the movie?

Stop that.
They wanted Wedge in TFA, the actor said no.

Thaaat'd be pretty wild... But all the merch is saying that is
not
the case. No, I suspect Wedge will be flying his old T-65.

According to the actor, he would have liked to do it, but it conflicted with another project he was doing.
Still, maybe it's for the best. Had he been in the first two, he may have been killed off with the other senior officers.

Entirely possible, much as I hesitate to concede.

The toy version of of the orange/white x-wing is already on shelves and is called Poe Dameron’s X-wing. Comes with Poe, Rey, Chewy, C-3PO and BB-8.

Many people did hate it, but I thought TLJ was one of the best Star Wars movies I'd seen. It was _new_ and it had something to _say_. Which. Well. TFA just didn't.
That's just me, though. And I don't think we need to have yet another round of people
being wrong about
hating on TLJ.

Hey, it's not just you.
But you are correct.
I don’t think anyone is wrong or right they just have their own subjective opinion. Which is fine.
No need to stir the pot.
I re-watched TLJ last weekend. It's a good flick. Not perfect, but none of them are.

I want to see Wedge in a new ship please. Anyone remember what he was flying in the Aftermath series? I thought it was an A-wing? I'm probably wrong. It's been a long time.

Ah fair, I just thought it was only promotionals.
Show of hands: who else is hoping (even if not expecting) to hear the phrase, "Yub, yub, Commander!"?

Thaaaaat requires a looooooooot of pre-existing context to make any sense.

All of my opinions are objectively true. Prove me wrong.
😉

TLJ grew on me, I'll admit.
I guess in hindsight, (once TFA set the tone), I just think 7-8-9 needed to be nostalgia, and New Movies needed to break New Ground.
And I'm worried that Nostalgia - > Novelty - > Nostalgia is going to make for a dorky trilogy. Which seems like what is going to happen.

After the event the Ewok adventure films. Wicket, are every friendly leg humping teddy bear, calls on his friend Han Solo to get him away from this blasted moon. He joined the republic navi as a capital ship hood ornament but after suffering this terrible duty for so many years he quite and got drafted into the resistance.
He then served with Rose Tico, often covering for her neglected duties as she went off saving mutated horses from casino planets.
Finally all the hard work paid off as he finally made petty Officer by the events of Rise of Skywalker.

Oh, so you are an optimist! I expect Wedge to show up somewhere in the background, let's say on a starship bridge, and then get exploded, thrown out of a window, and completely forgotten.
You can go ahead and include me in the "For" column. I'd love to see Wedge make an appearance. It will be a nice nod to old characters that takes nothing away from the new cast.
THEY GOT LAWSON!?!?!? Holy ******* **** balls on thirty ******ed camels!
I know they offered him a bit part cameo for the 7th film, but he turned it down because he wanted something more than that. Wedge and B-Wings, This 9th movie is going to be AWESOME!
