The distribution has more to do with the application window. My FLGS missed it by a couple of days and didn't get a Prime after having hosted 4 a regional each year.

I’d like to reiterate what @shmitty said here - the window for stores applying for Primes was very short this year.

I suspect that many stores did not submit an application in time, and if there’s no applications from a region...then no Regional.

I know that one of the reasons Vancouver BC has one this year (not having had one for several years now) is because I heard about the deadline over the various PacNW Facebook groups...and cobbled together a very last minute application in partnership with a local store and willing partners. Because why not?

To my happy surprise, we got one.

My take home lesson: work closely with your local stores. If they don’t have an Armada advocate - become the advocate!

Someone has to do the groundwork to set up these events - in many areas it’ll be community members, not store employees, who will be in the driver’s seat.

I’m not excusing FFG’s very short application window, but I do think that many stores may need a push from their community to place Armada events higher up on their priority list. So let’s all push together!

I'm in the same boat. The only one in Texas is in Houston! Nothing in Missouri (Not even in St Louis). Houston is 500 miles from Tulsa.

Fantasy Flight is awful at this. At least a few years ago they had some things within 350 miles.

As long as I’ve been playing there were regionals in kc as well as Nebraska which both had good attendance. So far neither has a prime event. Makes me a little anxious. I could drive to Iowa... but ugh, definitely hoping my go to spots got their apps in and are added to the list when it gets updated.

I know that the store in Nebraska filled out the application in time and was not selected. For me the closest regionals are four hours away, also the prize support isn't something I would drive that far for either. This looks like a store championship kit minus the spot glass card from 2017.

OKC/Tulsa should just organize our own with prizes we make or something. Houston is a looooooong drive.

The one in Quebec is the second closes one to me, does anyone know if the event would be bilingual? I'm debating on making the journey but my grasp of french is exceedingly poor.

I'd love to get to another as well seeing I will almost definitely be the TO for the Massachusetts Prime. A 5+ hour drive is a little rough though. Maybe if we had a group and could pool resouces for a hotel and carpool back and forth I would consider it.

Haven't tried with Armada, but once played X-Wing with someone who was functionally deaf. Thing with these games is - we all know the rules, we all know the cards and what they do. You can get a lot of mileage just with gestures - point at the card you are using, point at the thing the effect has, etc.

Not sure it would work as well here, but maybe?

Dear Ffg,

It doesn't matter if there aren't as many locations for prime tournaments this year because nobody can get their hands on official ships to play with anyway
