In the bottom corner is that a P47 thunderbolt flying backwards?

I like Resistance. It’s a kids show that knows what it is.
My biggest gripe with Rebels is that it wanted to act like a show for an older audience but never escaped the kid show approach to logic, conflict, and resolution.
However I wish the First Order’s entrance into the story would have been a slower burn.
Perhaps they knew there was a high chance of cancellation and wanted to make sure that most of their story was told?

Exactly how I feel! When you compare Rebels to something like The Last Airbender, Naruto or even Gravity Falls, it just never felt like it grew. The later seasons get much better, and when they introduced Thrawn his arcs/episodes were pretty much all amazing...in fact I always felt most of the stories and plot lines not revolving around Ezra were the best - (See Kanan, Hera, Obi-Won, Darth Maul)
Whereas those other shows I mentioned the main story grew and matured, it treated it's audience like it's time to grow up. Heck, that's kind of the whole message of Gravity Falls. Airbender probably has the best re-cap episode I've ever seen in all of animation with the "Ember Island Players" episode. Anyway, I haven't watched Resistance yet, but will pick up Disney+ in a month.

I think my main issue with Rebels, which I liked for the most part... is that like Downsizing, the main character doesnt advance the plot.
The plot advances around him.
Now, this can be fine in some instances, it is supposed to be a childrens war drama, and war isnt always advanced by people in it... but when the entire show is like that, it loses its charm. Other characters plots feel like well done side character plotlines from a game. Also, childrens war dramas dont work very well. Clone Wars, which can be argued is a 10+ age group market, didnt care that it would appeal to children and willingly showed clones die all the time. But it worked.
Rebels feels like it aimed for a younger market than 10, then held back from the actual effects of war for the most part until the last season or so.
Resistance sort of treads a middle ground, I am not the biggest fan of the main character, because stupid spies annoy me. Its like rogues in D&D. But the rest of the cast interests me. I want to know more about the former TIE Fighter pilot, or the Captain's imperial past. Did those two know each other? Did this ship join the Republic after endor? What is the story there?
My review of Resistance Season 1 would be:
Fails at being a spy series, or a race series (what I was expecting from the series), but is an interesting day to day life of someone living on the station.
I will watch season 2, because I like the other characters... maybe main boy will grow on me.
