Happy Friday - Road Trip

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

Hello,

As I have been in the car now on a road trip now for 7 hours, this weeks question, what is the furthest you have traveled for a X-wing game?

Ok taking a nap as I am not driving.

Only an hour/hour and a half or so- I'm not against going further, its just that with my schedule I rarely have a chance to take off a full weekend to just go to a tournament. I also generally take the wife if I'm going for a weekend tourney, so the cities I go to either have to be those with friends or something interesting for her to do all weekend- she does not want to sit around and watch me play.

Happy Friday!

I have traveled 9 hours to GenCon for X-wing. I've done that thrice. It was good to run events there. I also got to meet my fellow podcasters in person for the first time.

Besides that....I've traveled 3 hours for a Regional once. My last game had my dice fail so bad I didn't make Top 16 (but would've if my dice were average).

I got to play Xwing for the first time in two weeks last night! Good times...

I’ve only ever traveled about 90 minutes for a tournament. Hoping to change that as the kids get older.

Happy Friday, CB! I'm not a tourney guy, but I do live out in the Outer Rim of the Evergreen Galaxy. Which means that it's easily an hour to get to those places in the core system where they hold big tourneys. So I've driven an hour, a few times. I'd LOVE to hit more tourneys of ANY size, but...life, you know?

About 2 hours (and I've frequently picked folks up for the carpool). Kit tourneys, but the store has been doing a lot of strong prize support from their 1e stock...

Happy Friday!

About an hour for a get together with a group of friends/club day of X-Wing. I am lucky being in the NYC metro area that there are plenty of options within a half hour or so drive, so long trips don’t make a ton of sense to me.

Every year I have a 5 hour drive to go to the adepticon system open. Granted that's for at least 6 games.....

Missed a word

About 3 hours to regionals north and south of home base.

Hanger is out in the "sticks", and our local store usually doesn't have more than 20ish for a typical kit tourney.

Kids and life! But happy to play when I can.

About 120 miles, up to Indianapolis for a Shuttle Tydirium campaign at GenCon.

880 km or roughly 550 miles for our American brethren. I live about 60 km's from Melbourne, played at the first Australian System Open in Sydney.

Over 5 hours to Adepticon. Hung out with my brother 1 hour away.

Wow. You guys are all dedicated. That's awesome! I've never driven more than 20 min...

Longest journey I've ever done was my first time cycling up to and through north London with all my stuff in my backpack. Only 30 minute cycle, so hardly any distance at all, but as I was using the fastest / most direct route during rush hour, on a wet winter's evening it felt a lot longer due to the amount of traffic.

Farthest I went for xwing was to Adepticon (8ish hours away). It was the final Adepticon of 1.0, just before we knew 2.0 was going to be a thing.

Beyond that, I’ve only gone within my home state, and never more than an hour or two.

9 hours driving to GenCon. Can't very much say it was just for X-Wing though...

Around 5.5 hours for a Hyperspace Trial.

15-20 minute bike ride. 😂

Flew from west Texas to Atlanta for the ATL System Open with some buddies.

Well in 4 days im going to be jumping on a plane for 21 glorious hours of cattle class air travel and airport transfers for Worlds next week, does that count?
