Legion AMA

Am I the only one conflicted about the introduction of a sliding scale for future vehicles?

Plus side: Greater availability of vehicles allowing for more iconic units.

Down side: Sliding scale means some vehicles may be vastly out of scale with infantry/other vehicles, which ruins a bit of the cinematic look, especially given how much care some people in my local group have taken with creating terrain.

I am a little bummed about sliding scale. I would rather that they just keep vehicles of a certain size out of the game. AT-ATs are kinda out of the scope of what legion covers.

I'm not too worried about it. I doubt it will be as drastic as Armada, and they still made that look baller.

Could you tell me the time they've answered something about the Vultures?

at minute mark 42 they dont' out right say its a definite, but hint that its the right scale.

Sad there is not likely to be any Resistance or First Order anytime soon, no word on it. But if custom commanders come, I'd be amenable to that.

For First Order/Resistance I would say maybe two years from now? They just don't have the unit options and hopefully the comics and books will help fill up their roster. Also I know they did not say it, but I find it hard to believe that a scum faction would not come out next year. Between the Mandalorian and the existing options (gangs, Rancor, night sisters) I would be shocked if they did not do it.

As for custom commanders I was not sure what they meant by it? Will be like named people like Commander Cody with two different armors, 8 weapons, and 6 poses? Or will it be a generic commander that that we choose outfits, sex, race, pose, and be so customizable that we can use them for our avatars for Force and Destiny? I prefer the latter, but both ideas sound cool.

Yes, but Armada doesn't have "humans" on the board to use as a measuring stick.

I think so. For most people There is no conflict. I am flat out against a sliding scale.

Wait, wasn't Vader lying when he said that? lol

I fully agree with you.

For larger vehicles, I'd rather see a stand-alone add in for X-wing - meaning it plays with that game or by itself. Heck, even a larger scale war game would work.

I second that stance on the sliding scale. Aside from immersion, we already have a lot of vehicles that fit in the "It's-not-quite-right-but-it's-the-best-we've-got" category. If they release a scaled-down AT-AT I'm just going to use the WoTC one I already have. As far as I am aware there are no AT-TE's that are a little too small, only the quite expensive hasbro one that is too large. I may buy that, but certainly not a scaled-down AT-AT. There's already several decent options. Someone mentioned in a different thread that hobbyists/collectors outside of legion would be interested in a larger AT-AT. I wonder if they've considered that when they go with sliding scale. If we're going to do super-heavies in legion, I would want them done correctly. Do the massive stomping behemoths justice! Shrinking them down to "make it work" just doesn't sit well with me.

"Ask Me Anything" in this context.

Only Sith deal in absolutes.

I hate sliding scale

Thanks. And indeed it was my question! 😁

I dislike all generalizations.

Yes please. This would be enough to make me adopt a 4th faction (even if I’m “done” collecting some of mine). Lots of ways to paint them all up as a motley crew being led by Hondo or maybe a Hutt. I suppose even old man Maul is an option here, with his cyborg legs.

And skiffs!

I forgot to ask How many leg options Maul is going to get!

I am really happy because the words "customize" or "customization" have been spoken a lot of times, and I am really excited that customization is not only through cards and rules, but also a physical one in the models... that looks promising.

too many hurdles for that to be a viable business option at this point time

inaccuracies in the ama

crashed post is next year not this year.

phase 1 expansions are not the last soft plastic.

I am excited for the Custom Commanders, they seem like you'll be able to customize everything: Loadout, Pose, Armor, Gender, Species. The Vulture sounds like a good idea. On the topic of the sliding scale, They should just make some sort of Massive mode, kinda like epic play in X-wing, but if it gets us the Laat/i than t won't be so bad, though, I'm pretty sure Legion could handle a Laat/i without sliding scale. I bet that soon after they release the FO and Resistance/New Republic Factions, they'll have some sort of X-wing Legion Cross over(I'm joking, that'll NEVER happen, sadly).

just my 2 cents. Well, my 1/10000000000 cent

What makes you think you'd get that much customization?

Wish they'd applied sliding scale to the Occupier to make the bed TWO BLOODY MILLIMETERS wider so you could actually stick all six dudes flush in the bed.
