Sato list, ideas?

By sasska, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Do you think that this list is viable? Wanna give a shot to WAB. Gonna use the nebs as flankers. I'm not sure on the objectives.

Name: Dunkerque and her Escorts
Faction: Rebel
Commander: Commander Sato

Assault: Advanced Gunnery
Defense: Hyperspace Assault
Navigation: Volatile Deposits

MC75 Ordnance Cruiser (100)
• Commander Sato (32)
• Lando Calrissian (4)
• Ordnance Experts (4)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
• Expanded Launchers (13)
• Wide-Area Barrage (2)
= 162 Points

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
• Ahsoka Tano (2)
• Auxiliary Shields Team (3)
• Vanguard (4)
• Ordnance Experts (4)
= 64 Points

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)
• Ray Antilles (7)
• Auxiliary Shields Team (3)
• Salvation (7)
= 68 Points

GR-75 Medium Transports (18)
• Comms Net (2)
= 20 Points

Squadrons:
• Tycho Celchu (16)
• Dash Rendar (24)
• Kanan Jarrus (19)
• Han Solo (26)
= 85 Points

Total Points: 399

everything looks good, except maybe put bail on ord cruiser, and swap deposits for infested fields

Yes I wasn't sure about that blue objective, thanks. I was wondering what officer to put on the Cruiser. Strategic Adviser, Lando, and Bail were to 3 I was thinking about.

Switch the expanded launches to ACMs and throw a turbolaser upgrade on Salvation

Actually since I have WAB I cannot have ACM too, and I would really like to try out expanded launchers. I was thinking about putting a turbolaser upgrade to Salvation, but since she 'll have CF tokens hopefully, so she may not need dice control upgrade, and spinals would be expensive and I don't know whether slaved turrets is a good idea.

Accuracy generation tech would be great if I could fit some kind of it somehow in.

You have Ordnance Experts on Vanguard but I don't think it has any black dice.

He will be using Sato to swap out 2 dice, replacing the red with black.

H9 Turbolasers on Salvation could potentially be devastating against certain ships. Getting hit-crit symbols on your black dice then turning your red dice to an accuracy (using the CF token if needed to hopefully reroll away a blank) to block an important defense token is going to make that ship to hit a lot harder.

The problem is finding enough points to fit that upgrade there. You've already got a lot of good upgrades.

Switching the Expanded Launchers to External Racks might be worthwhile and saves you 10 points. But that'll come down to how often you think you'll be getting multiple front arc shots with the MC-75.

And whether you think the extra two black dice on the second shot into something make the difference between killing it or not.

Oh I see. That's an interesting use of it that hadn't occurred to me.

Yes, the question is whether expanded launchers worth it or not. That needs further investigation. Because you are right, H9 with a good roll could be devastating. On the other hand, I really like the idea that the '75 has 5 back and 2 blue dice before swapping. Maybe it's kind of a psychological warfare too, I guess it looks scary. I' m looking forward to test it.

It will also consistently boost WAB damage, assuming you do get multiple shots. That said, I recommend planning for a smart opponent who doesn't put his ships at close range of each other, and having a game plan for it.
