Anybody try it yet? How does it feel/compare to a standard 400 point game
200 point format
@Blail Blerg introduced rules similar to what was offered in the new RitR rules, so a lot of people played with a 200 point format around that time. I played a number of games that way back in the day. It is pretty fun. Smaller and quicker, for sure. Each piece is pretty important, so if you perform a sacrifice you better be really sure it is to your advantage. The main advantage for me was being able to get to play with friends on a Sunday afternoon, because games were shorter. I think a big advantage here is that it tightens up the length of the campaign. There is the possibility that, if you gather at a game store to play a campaign round, you might be able to get two rounds done in one day. That's a big advantage, I think.

Can I argue that I basically made it up and FFG copied it from me?

You can. It might not go anywhere. Either way, its a good idea.

Only if I can argue that the sector fleet rules were stolen from me. As our group played games larger than 400 this way anyways...
I like 300 points for an evening friendly game.

I mean do you think they did? You probably can.

Doubtful. I'm 98% certain FFG has taken a "don't talk to, answer, or listen to Darth Sanguis" policy. They ignored all my questions at the AMA today and are well known for deleting my comments both here and on FB...
But I'm still gonna. lol
Lol. @Blail Blerg do you have a link for the 200 pt rules you were using? I was planning on a 200pt event in my area anyway, no point in reinventing the wheel.
I like the FFG rules. Go 1 hammerhead and the rest squads kek.

How’s that worked?

Try searching task force it should appear.
I like mine better with a squad restriction. And they never did the half value on objectives.
@Blail Blerg i modified my home brew 200s based on yours. You and I discussed the mini campaign my son and I were playing based around 200pt fleets. Nothing as complex as what ffg has but, yeah we went there and we all did it before ffg did (at least publicly). Thumbs up and all hail Blail!

Lol, I had a similar idea, just simpler. Running Concealment I at the start.
RitR VI Stalker (195/200)
Rebels
MC30c Torpedo Frigate (63)
- Ordnance Experts (4)
= 67 total points
Squadrons (128/67):
8x YT-2400 (128)

I meant just the Task Force format. Not actual RitR.
Repeat

Gotcha. I like your list, though. I think it would work well in both formats. I just worried about the HH due to speed.
also, what does ATN do for you?

Incase the enemy brings intel.
I haven't had the chance to play this format yet, but I think that 200 points is the right format for beginners to start playing the game.
Besides, I can see tournaments being more fluid and popular at the 200 point level; if tournaments are ever run at that point level.

Don’t your squads need to be Heavy to do the effect?

And... When the Enemy Brings Intel... Boom. Your stuff is Heavy.

Mind. Blown.

I dunno, this just kinda feels like setting yourself up to be tabled before the squads even get to activate...
You might be okay through round 1 of the campaign, where the enemy can't bring out Demo yet, but once they start getting multiple upgrade cards and unique titles...
