We finally got some new Armada stuff! That means it's time to talk about future stuff! What GCW characters would you like to see added? What do you think their ability or theme should be?

I would like to see Gallius Rax added. Since he was all about mutual destruction, I think it would be cool if he let you add dice to your attacks in exchange for dealing facedown damage to your own ships.

What Clone Wars era commanders would you like to see first? I imagine we'll get Grievous first, but I would like to see Admiral Trench even though I hate spiders. His niche in the show seems to be all about being super hard to kill, so I imagine his ability would be something like Motti or Rieekan but different enough for him to be unique.

I guess, they won't start the Clone Wars expansion cycle with the Screeds, Sloanes or Bel Iblis' of Star Wars, i.e. Commanders from Legends, but with some on-screen movie commanders and officers.

Count Dooku and Grievous for the Separatist, General Kenobi and Wulff Yularen for the Republic.

Fun fact. This is the upgrade card text for the 18-points commander card of General Kenobi proposed on the Kuat Drive Yards site in October 2018.

"You may put aside 1 scatter defense token, 1 contain defense token, 1 evade defense token and 1 brace defense token. At any during the game you may discard one of these tokens to apply their affect to defend against an attack against a ship or squadron."
This, in contrast, is Kyrsta Agate's 20-points commander card for Wave VIII.
"After you deploy, gain 1 non-[scatter] defense token. During your “Spend Defense Tokens” step, if your speed is not 0, you may discard 1 defense token to resolve the effect of that defense token. You cannot resolve the effect of each type of defense token more than once per attack."
The KDY site collects quite a huge number of good upgrade card ideas. Many have to be play tested and tweaked a little (and spell checked) though...

Depends how far FFG can/will delve into ‘legends’. Pealleon (although he is technically canon again now I think) & Dalla would probably be the most obvious imperials.

As to general effect, im not sure. Pealleon was a Thrawn protege & Dalla was a Tarkin student but also aggressive (perhaps a bit high risk-high reward also).

I'm hoping to see a Commander Solo, with an ability to make all squadrons Rouge, or other squadron focused ability.

For the Clone Wars side of things I would like to see Tarkin and Anakin Skywalker, probably with different but same family abilities, so one can see the growth they had. Or give Anakin some squadron focused ability. For characters we don't have yet in game Obi-wan, Yoda, Plo Koon, Grievous, Trench, Dooku, and Ahsoka. I just hope that the abilities of the Clone Wars characters reflects what we know about them.

Although for any new commander I hope they don't make their Opportunity cost so high they aren't really worth taking.

I want to see the core set commanders be:

Repbulic:

Tarkin

Yularen

Kilian

Dao

There are some others but I would actually like to see a generic Clone fleet commander, someone who could tie in well with a bunch of Clone keyword upgrade cards.

CIS:

Trench (he has to be in here, dude wouldn't die)

Grevious

Dooku (who, we actually don't really see commanding fleets)

MAYBE Palps as Sidious.

Generic Tactical Droid commander, who we have seen, who works well with a Droid keyword in CIS upgrade cards.

After that I don't know. It will be hard as we don't really see much in terms of variety in fleet commanders. That happens when Clone Wars focuses on 3 main characters.
