IMPERIAL Nebulon-B Frigate (Fan design) By EC Henry

By LordCola, in Star Wars: Armada

This looks absolutely stunning!

Disney please make this canon and let FFG add it to the game.

Looks neat, yet too angular and not as good to the original imo. I always thought TIEs could dock in the middle spar. The 'new' version lacks that feature.

I think the angular design makes it fit incredibly perfect with the design for the Raider.

I am not saying that it looks better than the original Neb B, but I do think that this redesign would fit in better with other imperial ships than the canon Neb B (which is an Imperial ship) does. I also like the idea that the neb went through the same parts striping process as the Y wings to make it easier to maintain for the rebellion.

This is a new addition to my headcanon. Love it!

EC Henry designed a tie fighter with triangular wings. There’s a tie variant in Rise of Skywalker that looks remarkably similar.

Henry has also mentioned in his videos on the forgotten rebel ships, that he had access to the original models for reference.

I might be on a limb here but I think he’s actually working at Lucasfilm now. That doesn’t mean this wonderful design for is or ever will be canon but I wonder if there’s actually a chance for it to be.

Wow, this is cool.

The plot thickens...

I seriously hope so. I actually think his designs are far better thought out than many designs of late.

I just wish his Y-Wing directly, was used. It was beautiful.

I think it's beautiful 😍

His Y Wing is extraordinary.

Sadly JJ is more concerned with nostalgia...

Not a jab at the new films which I very much enjoy. But he’s not particularly innovative.

When Star Wars jumped the tracks to do something new (Prequels, The Last Jedi), fans hated it. So... the lesson seems to be lean heavily on nostalgia to make the fans happy since they flip out with anything new.

Can't tell if I like this or the Nebulon-B2 better to be honest. An excellent design!

I wonder if George Lucas lambasting the lack of originality in The a Force Awakens will affect The Rise of Skywalker at all? Given that JJ is such an OT fanboy that must have stung to hear from an idol.

I don’t want to stray too far from the OP, but I wonder if the reaction to The Last Jedi ultimately has doomed SW from ever taking a risk? Whether or not it’s done well, personally I will always respect and defend the choice to attempt to be bold and different.

Why would TLJ doom Star Wars from ever taking a risk? It was a resounding success and a fantastic film. One can say whatever they want, they can't ignore that it literally made back the price Disney paid to even buy Star Wars, and that's after TFA and Rogue One.

The one that scared them the most was Solo, becuase it didn't make that much money.

But The Last Jedi essentially made all the money. The green speaks.

That’s actually an excellent point.

The hate for TLJ is so pervasive and consistent online that it begins to have an affect on perception even to someone who loved it, which I do.

I suppose it’s an example if something is repeated enough times it will begin to seem like the truth.

Which is why I love EC Henry. He’s just such a positive fan. He’s not afraid to be openly critical when he feels that way but its kinda uncommon and it’s always constructive rather than toxic.

You know, my commissions are open. If enough of you get together I'm sure you can scrape up the cash.

I wouldn't call The Force Awakens something new. It is literally copy pasted story of A new Hope with bland characters and the main character faces little to no hardship and excels at everything despite others skill.

I think that many of the fans loved the prequels. I surely did, even though TPM was childish and the love plot in AoC was annoying.

I think the hatred for the new trilogy is moreuniversal - as it should be! 😈

TLJ made over four billion dollars.

Don't be this daffy.

Ahm... did I... mention The Force Awakens in my comment? It's exactly what I mean- fans call it a clone of A New Hope... And some criticized the film for that very aspect. Yet when Star Wars tries a lot of new things with the next film, fans still throw a tantrum. And the reason I'd wager TFA is so Similar to ANH is because fans flipped out over how badly the prequels were.

See, I figured hatred of the Prequel trilogy is supposed universal.... as that effectively killed Star Wars until the Disney acquisition. It boggles my mind that people are willing to choose Jar-Jar, THE GALACTIC SENATE, and Dreary Anakin sand-hating awkward dialogue skywalker over anything in the sequels. I'll take Leia flying through space over watching Anakin and Padme have zero chemistry in the second film every time.

Sorry I misread prequels as sequels.

Well, apparently I can't write about my opinion regarding that statement because it worth a warning from FFG...
